Which gnome do you use? I use 2.8 and it is a pretty basic desktop setup, no real eye candy. Unless you consider transparent terminal windows damn sexy.
Yes. And your OSX apps as well. They're twice as lickable in 3D!!! Even better you can use this over E17 for a thrice lickable win32/linux/osx environment tour de force. K apps have a little trouble sometimes though. Sorry.
Actually I only find dupes funny. It is nothing to really get pissed off about. I mean come on, did this dupe really inconvenience you? If it did I think the problem is more with you and less with them.
Yes, the ineptitude of others can be a hassle, but in this case you're really not put out. So maybe lay off the caffeine and come up with a good dupe joke or something. Plots to spam the editors with dupes is just plain childish and stupid.
What makes him so damn special is that he is following the License Agreement to the letter. Blizzard fucking told him he could do this, and then when he tried to they ignored the issue and gave him a round about analogy that does not apply to his situation, much like your windows + cd key analogy.
Except that it is not a dupe. If you look at the post from a few days ago it is about things they are opening, and this one is about things they are not opening.
I hate to do this, but I have got to call bullshit on this. I run WoW both on WinXP and VidaLinux with Cedega. Cedega's performance is crap for this game. Just one look at their forums could tell you that, but I am telling you from experience, it sucks. Especially if you want to go anywhere there are other people.
In windows my average fps hover around 50 - 60 when soloing somewhere, and 35 - 45 when in a populated area. On Linux with Cedega however it hovers around 15 - 20 when solo and drops to an unplayable 5 - 10.
All that being said, I am impressed with what the Transgaming folks have done, but please don't spread shit like that. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by runs faster computationally, but even if it is doing things faster, if you can't see what's going on the performance is still crap.
You are correct about native games though, they no doubt run better and smoother on Linux than on Windows (except maybe Neverwinter Nights, and my only gripe there is that the mouse feels slugish sometimes).
You dumbass. These are uncrippled downloads of digital music with, say it with me, NO DRM !
As far as all popular music goes, yeah, they might not offer that. But given that most popular music sucks ass, I'm okay with this.
Or, since that is a pain in the ass, and no Windows/Linux/Intel/AMD whatever laptop has as sleek and effective sleep mode as Apple laptops do you could simply do as the Grandparent suggested and buy a $20 mouse with all the wheels and buttons you need. FPS example, you only need two buttons and one wheel. Of course if you feel you need more buttons and wheels you can drop a few extra dollars on whatever monstrosity you feel fills your needs.
Of course, I don't know why this is an issue since I can not say that I know anyone who uses the track pad on their laptop to play FPS. (Yes, I know, there is some obscure weirdo who will chime that they do, but they are probably lying just to be a fuckwit).
I agree. The Screensavers said goodbye to most of the truly knowledgable members of the staff. Now looks like MTV for the dork generation. While this only slightly peeves me, they then killed Unscrewed, which honestly was the second best show they had behind X-play. The only real benefit I've seen is they seem to only show Robot Wars half as much as Tech TV did before the merger.
So what you are saying is that you do not have a reason for one? Then don't buy/build one. Plenty of other people do use them, as they do get more than a meter from their computer and would like to enjoy music where ever else they are. Also, there is a lot of music out there that is not teeny-bopper chart toppers.
Reasons I do use MP3 players: 1. I hate the radio (especially because of the teeny-bopper chart toppers). 2. Exercise, I run on a closed to traffic course. 3. I hate the radio.
I don't understand the point of your post. It seems to me that you are trying to justify your decision not to purchase (or in this case build) one.
The point is outlined in this line of the slashdot plug, "'CERNET2 is the biggest next-generation Internet network in operation in the world..."
That alone makes it newsworthy. But of course, you're right. We should not discuss news items from countries whose values systems are not reflections of our own. I hate all that pesky "world news" stuff anyways. It might broaden my horizons or something, and we wouldn't want that.
I obviously know that Wine is not an emulator since the sentance you cited states that Wine is not an emulator (slightly roundabout yes, but not so terse as to be easily mistaken to mean something else).
The difference is Wine intercepts Win32 calls and translates them to something the Linux system can understand. However ReactOS doesn't have to intercept these calls to the Win32 API since it is _duplicating_ them directly.

It was an Atari laptop computer. I don't think they were ever made for real, just for the movies.
I understand what you are saying, but Doom 3 is a bad example as it has native Linux support. I can't understand why anyone would run it in Cedega.

heh heh... true, but I wasn't saying you should pay them either... yeah, then I might get a little upset.

While it is self promotion, it is also informative, interesting, and on topic. This is all a lot more than most of the posts here can say.
Okay, I took a closer look, and we're both a little wrong. This article is about the other article. So not so much a dupe as redundant information.
Except that it is not a dupe. If you look at the post from a few days ago it is about things they are opening, and this one is about things they are not opening.

how about you guys just reference your own articles and call them recursive?
So what you're saying is people should download popular music, realize it sucks, and then make their own music? I LOVE IT!!!
No seriously.
I'm not joking. The racket of a million amateur musicians having fun producing their own tunes could never hurt as much as say, another Lil' Jon song.

Because we all know there are no drm free music services around that offer legitimate and legal in America music downloads.

I think Vaporware insinuates that the software may come out someday. This is more like greasy roadkill ware.
suprnova was a website... this is a p2p app...
you didn't click his link did you?

Well, since this is released by the company that made it I am pretty sure the rule is to download it at your will, as soon as their server cools down.
Now there might be different rules for abandonware not released into the open by the owner.
