There have been quite a few occasions I've seen Windows 9x blue screens on ATMs in the Manchester area of England. Hell, every once in a while they drop to the desktop!
Of course, I never go back to the same ATM again when I come across one of these. For the Manchester Slashdotters on here, check out the ATM opposite the BBC building near Spar on Oxford Road on a Friday night. It's almost always bluescreening or displaying the 9x desktop.
"I'm a hacker, I can make your computer blow up using the internet."
Great, my house burns down containing all my worldly possesions (and the cat): all because I downloaded a Celine Dion track just to remind myself of how much she sucks.
Please note the facts before making the same old "we have it even worse here" assumptions:
* The cap is exactly the same for all 3 tiers of service (128kbps, 600kbps and 1Mbit). * The prices for these services are £14.99, £24.99 and £34.99 respectivly. * This is coming from the same ISP that recently did away with most of the binary newsgroups because it was easier than investing in some new hardware to cope with the demand.
NTL's network can't cope with the demand, and that's a fact. Rather than update their network, servers and infrastructure, they find it more cost effective to charge their mostly loyal users the same price for an inferior service. I'm sorry, but that just doesn't wash with me. Broadband is being sent back to the stone-age.
One of the best examples of Mozilla-based code I've seen is DigiGuide. It's an online TV guide based on Mozilla using XML. It has a themable interface and plug-in support.
It's been going strong for a few years now, and the developers have just included support for US TV listings, with European listings in the works.
Subscription to the service is (a very reasonable) £4.99 GBP/year.
If it's choice you're worrying about, you can always be assured that there will always be plenty of options available in Linux. New projects are appearing all the time.
Infact, from the viewpoint of the dev community, this is a gift from the gods. Think about it.
With all the doom-mongers saying that Linux is failing as a viable desktop replacement, this just tells the story how it is.
Linux is catching up.
I'd expect this margin to increase dramatically over the next 12-18 months.
People tend to forget that there were a couple of competing standards about when the powers-that-be were squabbling over a CD writing standard. Seeing as CD-R came out on top that time, DVD-R immediately relates back to CD-R and sounds better to the average Joe.
Next, on the subject of which is better:
DVD+R/RW: Technically better, has the greatest corporate backing. DVD-R/RW: Much more compatible (in my experiance), has the backing of "the people" due to inexpensive media.
I have a Pioneer DVR-104, and I'm as happy as a pig in shit.
Great Britain's car owners are already charged for road tax. A paper "road tax" disc (like a large circular postage stamp) is displayed on the windscreen.
This is jsut further proof that the British government tax and charge you for practically everything you buy and everything you do. We're taxed enough, why the hell should we be charged more????
This really is the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard.

I don't think it's an impossible scenario.
"Besides not having a good story, it took itself way too seriously."
It's not a story. It's not even half a story. It's a third of a story. The wise amongst us won't be judging 'Reloaded' until we see 'Revolutions'.
This is by far and away one of the crappest submissions I've seen in a long, long time. ./ needs to get some form of quality control back, pronto.
Somebody tell them it's just another name for Edonkey.

My beautiful Trinity is nothing more than a lousy script-kiddie! :(
I'd I had good karma I'd be modding you DOWN, BOI.

That equates to roughly $57. Now stop talking and let us bitch.
Editors != good.
They've done their homework on us, check out question 11 on the FAQ. :)

I have a headache now, thanks.

Maybe the flash ROMs in question "fell of the back of a truck", if you know what I mean.
John Cage's estate would make a fortune.
Yeah, like Pele(aldo).
Yahoo! Games are the bain of my life. I just can't keep away from that damn Pool.... I need help. :\

Can't see it being much of a problem if you're using apt.
Go-on, you know you want the title of "Most-watched online wedding". ;D
I can't see their job being too hard, if these updates that the Trillian team are making are modular.
I'd never had a problem with Trillian auto-downloading a small 4kb .DLL update a couple of times a day. :)
