I currently use a IBM Model-M on my desktop, and I love it, Im assuming the keyboard you linked is not buckling spring, I would like a buckling spring space saver keyboard (no func keys) like that, would be better without the numpad.
Check out http://www.pckeyboard.com/. They have some buckling spring keyboards like the Model-M, and one of them has a mouse nub in the middle like the other poster mentioned. But it is a full sized keyboard, with function keys and num pad. And be warned, they aren't cheap...
Replacing the smaller conventional arms dominos with huge nuclear dominoes isn't such a great idea. Although big dominoes are harder to push over, once they start toppeling they're MUCH harder to stop.
What if the software I want isn't in the list? What if I find some cool, obscure application on the web that I want to install? In this scenario, it depends entirely on how the creator packaged the software, if at all.
Everything it seems that every electronic gadget all sort of follows the same basic way of working and that if you grew up with that you can do anything. If you could use a tape player, you could quickly use a cd player, if you could use a cd player you could learn a dvd player, a reciever, an iPod........
But 50 years ago, there would have only been record players. The interface on a record player is quite different from any players you mentioned. What devices will we have 50 years from now? Food for thought...
I'd like to see an option where you can give up most of your empire to a new computer player (call it a civil war or something) and get a big bonus on your score for doing so.
A different spin off that: what if everytime you switched governments (monarchy to republic, etc), several of your cities would split off from your empire. It would add some realism to the concept of changing governemts and help prevent stupid crap like switching back and forth between government types out of convenience.
Personally I think this would be a much more interesting (and effective) method of limiting early hyper-expansion than waste and corruption. If you build a vast empire before you even get monarchy, you'll risk losing a lot of that effort when you have to switch, and potentially end up creating a dangerous new enemy civ.
I don't know, what do you guys think? Sid, are you listening?:)
Haha, I got so sick of people calling the game Celda. What's ironic is that the tendancy to bitch about something being "kiddish" seems to be inversely proportional to a person's actual maturity level...
Or people could just, I don't know, try to not spend more than they make... I think a lot of people seem to factor their credit cards into their total worth. As in "I have a card with a $5,000 limit, that means I have $5,000 extra to spend", without considering how they'll actually pay it off.
The nvidia drivers are slightly harder on linux, even though they take less time.
I would argue with that... Over the last few weeks, I've dabbled with getting linux with the nvidia drivers installed. I tried Fedora, Debian (testing), Ubuntu, and Suse. I could not get the drivers for my Geforce 6800 GT installed on a single one of those distros with a fresh, out of the box install.
On Fedora, after installing the drivers, it wouldn't boot any more. Frustrated, I tried Ubuntu and Debian. On those, the kernel source didn't install with the distro, so I spent some time spinning my wheels trying to figure out how to get that. When I finally did and tried the nvidia drivers again, I get an error in nvidia.o. Moving on to Suse, the Yast online updater downloaded the drivers for me, but it only had drivers for cards up to the Geforce 5950.
So in short, I would contest your assertion that the nvidia drivers are slightly harder on linux...

And the new Spyhunter game advertises on the box that it contains the original Spyhunter. Which is great, but what they don't mention is that you can't play the original Spyhunter until you "unlock" it by winning the new game and doing some other crap. Guh! Don't advertise a feature I can't use right away!
Off topic rant: I hate this trend in console games nowadays. Does anyone else miss the days when "replayability" meant "I want to play the game again cause it's so cool" rather than "I want to play the game again so I can get to the cool stuff"...?
You may be right about the tray, but everywere else it's a godsend. When I need to get something done I usually right-click and I can get it done without resorting to top menus or toolbars.
I think the point here is that there shouldn't be any functionality that's only available by right-click. By shipping their systems with only one button mouses, they ensure that developers can't make functionality only available under a right-click since they can't assume their user has 2 buttons. I've found myself randomly right-clicking things in various windows apps trying to figure out how to do something because I couldn't find it on the menu or toolbar, which is poor design.
OK, so how long till someone mods the Mac Mini to fit in one or two PC drive bays?:) Maybe route the usb through to the PC's usb headers, a custom bracket in the back of the PC for DVI... Hmm, that could actually work...

Best analogy ever...
For some reason when I read this, I picture you standing over your parents, who have just been hacked to bits.
"I may be useless, but this CHAINSAW wasn't! HAAAAAA HA HA HA HA!"
Please. Real men use "copy con". :)
By saying, "Personally, I'd lean toward...", you've demonstrated exactly why there are so many implementations of the same concept.
I can't tell if you're confusing Enterprise with Voyager, or if you're making a subtle comment about Archer. :)
That's ok, it'll probably be years before DNF runs on Windows. :)

Well at least we know how to stop them. Surely they'll build them with a predetermined kill limit... :)
Didn't you read Apple's site on the iPod? It said specifically, "Do not eat iPod Shuffle."
Wouldn't obfuscating perl code be redundant? ;)

Whew! For a second there I thought I'd have to walk away from reading this thread and make my own opinion. Glad I dodged that bullet!
We landed on the MOON!
Well, it is the land of milk and honey...
