Seriously. Anyone that has had an even cursory look into human nature would have noticed that the people that are most likely to bitch are some of the ones that are least likely to do anything about it. Either they are not in a position to do so; or, they still have faith the system works (for them). And, the only reason it has failed them so far is because people are either not properly informed, or have been misguided. It's something like: The men you've got by the balls scream the loudest when you clench your fists.

There are also a few that just like bitching because they are attention whores and love the spotlight, positive or negative. They won't do much usually because being a victim gives them more shit to whine about to grab attention with.

Frequently, these people will actually attack people that attempt to make a change to the system outside the rules. Allowing such subversives to act takes away the loud-mouth's security blankets of "I am going about this the right way." and "If I just try hard enough, long enough, this will work." The drama queens do not want to lose their supply of indignation to whine about. And, in fact, it presents an excellent opportunity to both vent their rage and prove their loyalty to the system as they see it.

Money is just a form of power, and power can most definitely buy love if applied strategically. Just look at national level politics if you want examples. Do you think all those rabid supporters have deep meaningful personal relationships with their favorite politicians and pundits?

Like most things in dealing with people's egos, it is not that it is impossible. It just has to be done indirectly to avoid throwing the target's ego into a state of dissonance until the barb is set. For example: Get a hold of some kind of power over people, tell them what they want to hear, blind them with some emotional bullshit, give them, or even just tell them you are giving them a pittance in exchange and a great number of people will love you to the day they die or slam face first into betrayal, even if someone else points out the reality of it.

Heck, pointing out the truth can make the problem worse as the targets then feel they have to cover up their mistake by making reality fit their feelings, compounding the problem. The exposure is interpreted as a personal attack and is dealt with as such. Ever tried to talk facts and reason in a heavily political thread? You might as well just insult their mothers and infer improper relations with various friends and family members.

It looks very similar to a sketch design I came up with in college. But, I did not (still don't) have the engineering background to make it around the actual number crunching needed to make it efficient, much less the money and machining facilities to actually throw at a prototype that would likely be inefficient due to not having calculated optimum shapes and proportions. Knowing which alloys to use: Shaft wear, rotor, and wall erosion being the big issues here, especially without rings. Things have to be kept tight or too much stuff leaks around.

For instance, mine used "fins" on the rotor that started out normal to the center shaft and then curved to about 45 degree's near the outer "wall" which had the ungrounded end of the "spark plug" and the exhaust. A later design of a Wankel-like rotary came out showed that the exhaust should not be quite at the outer wall due to unspent fuel getting into the exhaust. I don't think I got around clearing out almost all the exhaust and replacing it with fresh fuel and air, either. But, now that I think about it again, it would just be a simple matter of separating the air and fuel injection portions of the cycle. I was trying to dump it in pre-mixed, which would either have to compress existing post combustion material that did not flee during the exhaust cycle, or run the risk of mixing too much and ending up in the exhaust system which would backfire. Variable torque was also an issue, as it seemed like it would be easy to stall and blow out the fins. Hybrids had not yet made it on the scene and had not caught my eye.

I do not know why I am spouting off about this. I guess it just brings back memories about things I would like to do, but cannot due to lack of resources. But, whatever, something about inspiration and perspiration.

Interesting. Just a guess, but, I take it the problem is the containment is breached due to a combination of thermal stress and the molecules and/or lattice being disrupted by neutron absorption and secondary decay? I have seen this in mildly radioactive geological samples, where the isotope bearing crystal irradiates the surrounding rock over millions of years, wreaking it, leaving a tell-tale star-burst pattern. Or, perhaps the high energy neutrons are making it out of the bed and into the surroundings, inducing new radioisotopes outside of containment? I suppose the saving grace of the second one would be the short half life of the created material.
