    try to feed word or excel corrupted .doc or .xls files and see what happens, try to load corrupted images in photoshop or gimp.

    I guess that's just laziness on the programmers behalf, you should never assume the data you get fed is correct.

    BTW I checked with photoshop with some corrupted file, and photoshop warns me it is corrupt, and asks me if i want to proceed with opening it, no crashes though

    my example was actually with real people. I don't know how McDonalds handles their stuff in the States, but here in The Netherlands, it's with Ice, and with onions or whatever, there are no options

    Well, if there's any food chain that will be automated completely first it will be the fast food chain, just last week I'd try to order a Coke at the McDonalds without ice.
    Trying to get those monkeys to understand that you do not want them to put the ice in the cup.
    And they will tell you it is impossible.

    is sports, or at least something to get your body moving. The human body is not designed to sit at a desk, and barely move all day. I'll bet if you do a little exercise every odd or so day, you'll feel a lot better

    They claim to own rights in code that IBM wrote

    Then IBM must have signed some insane license agreement when they licensed code for AIX.
    Something along the lines of: We[IBM] don't own any of the code we write.

    Sounds a bit far fetched if you ask me. Nobody would be stupid enough to sign a deal where every line of code you write (in fact for ever since you signed the deal, because how are your going to prove you didn't write the code while the license was still valid), wouldn't be your property and to do what it whatever you please

    Nonsense, everybody will put their game on pause for a shag. Most "hardcore" gamers have a low self esteem, so they can't be bothered to go out to get pist and try to pick up some birds. The feeling of rejection doesn't weigh up to the feeling of shooting out some monsters guts.

    I think most people cannot be bothered to learn what it is . I don't think they want to have their A$$ owned by Microsoft.

    A lot of people get cancer, in fact everybody, but you're body normaly prevents it from growing and destroying your body, that's why younger people are less likely to get cancer then older people, they have a much higher resistance.

    So I think this scanner will find all the cancers in your body, but it's up to the doctor to determine the evil/growing cancer, and of course make the appropriate decision

    Otherwise, the OS is looking pretty good. I still spend most of my time in either a development tool or the command line, so I'm not that big into Finder and the like. (A good old ~/do[TAB]/pro[TAB] gets me to my ~/Documents/Projects folder quite fast enough)

    I think a lot of people underestimate the power of the Finder.
    For example if you put your projects folder in your Toolbar, it's just one click away.
    I have two column views, with all the important links in my toolbar, and it's all I ever need. I have the toolbar set to text only mode to save screen space, and set the finder to never ever open in a new window. Works like a charm

    Not to be too critical, but did it seem that that "lawyer" basically just wrote a book report from previous slashdot stories? I'm NOT a lawyer, but could have come up with that.

    I must admit since this SCO crap has been going on, we've all become Unix historians

    Anyways, if I'll ever reproduce, I'll have a great story to tell my grandchildren: "8 decades ago, AT&T created a computer operating system called UNIX to run its..."

    real world perfomance doesn't seem to make a lot of difference, for what you have to pay extra and who is will to cough up that extra $$$ to see UT 2003 jump from 223 to 242 fps, you can't even see the difference with your naked eye!

    it was a mistake. Apple has always been tight lipped about new product releases, and why would they want to reduce the impact the WWDC keynote will have?? If they wanted people to know about this, they would have released the info earlier. This was a mistake made with updating the online store.

    And heads will roll for the poor souls who accidently updated the store to early.
