I really love the tunnelled VNC that iSSH offers. I use this a lot to get to my home machine. Also the keyboard and associated list of all available command and function buttons is really nice. I also like the "mouse" buttons. Those are very nice instead of tapping the screen which can be "fat-fingered." Nothing worse than choosing "close" instead of "save". I also like the fact that it works over 3G so I can truely get to my home machine anywhere, anytime.
This is so true. We have a wii and it is expressly used for playing games with our friends. I have a wife and kid and job and house that take all my other free time. I hate the fact that content for games must be unlocked in single player mode. That is very frustrating.
I'm pretty sure it's Trinity. Their head of Information does not support Macs because they "don't work correctly on our network...." and a couple years ago I could see this coming with they way they started to "shape" traffic.
This would be the downfall of the technology for sure! The government (whom i work for) uses VPN's etc to allow employees to telecommute to work. The networks they connect to can contain up to secret information (one step below Top Secret or Classified material.) This then becomes a matter of national security and the RIAA would then be classified as a terrorist organization for the pure and simple fact that they are accessing information that the government has deemed secret.
I work for Sandia National Labs as a student intern. In August student interns are required to present the projects they've been working on during the summer at a symposium. Each project has to be checked because say a student is working on an airplane lets say or some sort of technology to cover the airplane...well if the student mentions in his presentation that this technology could possibly be used to make an invisible skin for airplanes that presentation all the sudden becomes a classified discussion of possible stealth technologies....just because the student mentioned possible uses...
OR say a student is working with X gadget. and He is also working with Y gadget. neither of which are classified in themselves. Then lets say that the student wants to make a silde showing all the gadgets he's been working on. He takes a photograph of X and Y in the same slide and BAM! that's a classified picture because when you combine X and Y you get gadget Z which is classified.
that's how it works!
I have a friend that was in a california street gang. the gang would go into the computer lab and kick the nerds;) off the computers and play Escape Velocity! w00t! He's off the streets now and not in a gang.:-D ALLLLLL kids like to play games!
At our school every incoming firstyear is required to take the basic computer class. This is the easiest way for a university to deal with unfamiliar territory. (Also a great padding for us CS majors:-P)
Also the fact that a campus only needs one Mac Tech is a testiment to how well the mac operating system is to use. I'm the only one here for a campus of 2500 students:)
Does anybody know if there is such a thing as a DVI Switch with USB. I have a DVI Flat Panel and would absolutely love to use that with my other computers:-D

My college has no keypad. You just swipe your card. That's a huge security risk. Imagine if some sexual predator got access to a dorm. That's scary!
