  1. Alright I'll bite, let's look at your 'cold hard' facts and numbers

An analysis of data from Georgetown University’s Free Speech Project by the project’s director, Sanford Ungar, published on Medium. Given that there are 4,583 colleges and universities in the United States (the bulk of which are four-year institutions), dozens of incidents is ... not a lot. When you limit it to just conservative targets, the number becomes even smaller. Now, some might consider a few dozen incidents a year in a country of 4,583 higher education institutions a national crisis; I would consider it perhaps unfortunate, but not a crisis.

Basically, it looks like some guy makes this online tool to look at free speech, that appears to focus mostly on (Administrative) Actions, repeatedly says its not comprehensive and then analyzes a subset of this dataset. The Vox author takes this and somehow comes to the conclusion that this disproves the entire phenomenon that colleges are biased against conservatives. That...is pretty much the crux of the entire article. So...is this the best you can do? Lol....

Shutting down the government because it won't fund your pet project is not the same thing as vetoing bills trying to affect previously passed legislation by de-funding it. This isn't rocket science here.

Theres no real technical difference. Its basically President vs Congress each time thats all that matters. Don't pretend that you'd believe in this new moral patina of 'passed legislation' you've just invented if you were on the other side.

  10. The only source that insinuates that there is no demand is from antiwhaling propaganda. Japan for its part says its not profitable simply because they by definition don't allow a profit since its supposed to be scientific. Why not let them whale? They only hunt common species. If theres no demand like you say they'll eventually get bored of it as the old people die off and problem solved. On the other hand high demand means the Japanese will have an incentive to pour billions more into research and funding than whiny envirowackos are willing to do to save and increase whale populations of those they hunt and those they want to hunt bringing more delicious tastes and delectable food options into the world cuisine.
