Somewhat similar, I saw a study recently about how they took 2 groups of older people. One group did strength training I believe, and the other just did various mental stuff. They found that the group that exercised was improving in their cognitive function while the other group stayed the same.
Just keep everything about you active, don't couch potato to death.
"showing their Tesla vehicles steering toward concrete barriers...... Tesla argues that this issue doesn't necessarily mean that Autopilot is unsafe"
When I think safety, it certainly includes things like purposefully steering into concrete barriers!
I think the auto pilot can help.... but it isn't "auto pilot" of course because you have to pay attention. Which is harder to do when you're the one not driving the car. If my car started aiming itself at divider barriers, I'd probably stop using the feature entirely.
In the UK . . . well, a majority voted for Brexit . . . how many did so on anti-foreigner sentiments . . . nobody will talk about.
Randomly this reminds me that apparently a large number of people in the UK claimed they voted for it as a joke, thinking it wouldn't go through.....Never vote as a joke.
What we do have that nobody on either side wants to discuss or even acknowledge is a public mental health crisis.
I feel the problem is more of both sides are too combative on what they want / don't want to address this well. It seems many conservatives want to say "It's a mental health problem" but then don't want to do a lot to help provide mental health care. But then the liberal response I've usually seen to any conservative mentioning mental health issues is "YOU DONT WANT FREE HEALTHCARE YOU LOVE GUNS REEEEEEE!" To which the response is more of a "muh 2nd amendment and guns!"
Really sucks people can't work together at least SOMEWHAT to improve things.
I seem to recall a year or so ago India was talking about going cashless. A bunch of people at the time in various charity groups were worried this was their "attempt to wipe out the poor," or whatever because beggars couldn't get money, and volunteers at charity groups couldn't get paid daily via cash.
I think at the time the worry about that also stemmed from India shutting down a small number of foreign run orphanages that were ran by various churches and charities basically saying "This isn't a service we are interested in," as the reason why. The main reason I remember there being shock about it was one of the orphanage groups was taking care of something near 2,000 children?
I never paid much attention to Apple since I never bothered getting any of their computers... But I remember in college that all my MacBook using friends were happy when some Intel chip came out because they finally could use their pirated copies of Windows on their Macs to play games or use whatever other Windows only software. Would this new CPU will still let them use Windows if they want?
I liked seeing: "but it still falls short of Musk's goal of 2,500 Model 3s per week". Followed immediately by: "Musk sounds a celebratory note on the 2,000-vehicle per week," and "while ignoring the larger issue of missed deadlines".
This reminds me of google banning searches for "gun" in the the shop search. Not for "gun" by itself, but anything with "gun" in it. EG: Burgundy wine, Gundam, etc.
I wonder how many of these people constantly saying they are ready to delete facebook actually WILL delete it... vs how many are just saying it in slacktivism or because it makes them think they look good/better somehow.
These people should first worry about the DNC existing long enough to put forth a candidate in 2020.
I keep seeing different people, news organizations, etc saying this about the DNC or Republicans. DNC will destroy itself and fall apart... Trump is making the Republicans fall apart and the GOP won't exist anymore... etc.
Yes please. Can both of those things go ahead and happen?
Meanwhile a friend of mine in California is always sharing posts from his friends and people he likes about how they need to destroy 50+% of the roads and also parking lots, parking decks, etc and just build more bike lanes and make everyone use bikes or rideshare. "This will revolutionize and fix all traffic issues!"
Exactly what I was thinking as I read the article. "Apple is winning!" Me: ".... at almost no one?"
Sad how we used to think something like this would be so amazing and like some crazy James Bond gadget - but of course it's not a very usable substitute for a good phone.
I used to work at Bed, Bath, and Beyond when in college. Our return policy was so insanely easy to abuse. I only ever recall one person being spoken to about their returns, and this was because they had made something like 78 returns in the past year.
There were customers that would buy items with a coupon, then return without receipt (I didn't use my card, I paid cash) and get 100% store credit back for something they paid 20% off for... then just use their store credit on something with yet another 20% coupon. And they'd just do this all year. And we couldn't say anything about it ever... only the loss prevention guy was allowed to in extreme cases.
But we'd have the same "super bowl party" tv situation. Except in ours, people would buy tons of outdoor furniture for summer parties - then just return it a week later scuffed up and dirty. And our policy allowed for this.
And part of me imagines someone getting annoyed at the beeping and turning it off w/o even looking. (and then blaming the company that made this)

who wants a 1" thick phone again?
If the entire added thickness was battery alone.... I ALMOST think I would.

Will it bombard and bury our enemies in personalized ads?
"which is using its drones to deliver pharmaceuticals and burritos" ...Why specifically these? Is it ONLY those?
*Signature Pad sticks out* "Your move, creep."

Why would you want a cashless society?

The wording of the subject seems a bit off. Makes it seem like the situation was: GIPHY: Please let us back, we won't be racists anymore!
"And it's designed to let multiple people experience it simultaneously, without risk of bumping into each other." What if I ran?

The real crime is not planning for enough parking

Facebook is just mad that they weren't paid for it.
