  1. Re:Politics + Facebook = Pain on Why Facebook Is Stressing You Out · · Score: 1

Its a shame, especially since political discourse is so very essential to a healthy society - that social sites like Facebook make it even more stressful than it already can be.

I dunno, in my experience social sites like Facebook offer *opportunities for more* of the political discourse that is so essential to a healthy society.

  2. My experience differs on The Nation Is Losing Its Toolbox · · Score: 1

My home-owning years have coincided with the existence of the World Wide Web, and I would say with certainty that I do more things with my hands because of this. In a pre-web world, I would just "outsource" any home-maintenance projects to professionals I suppose, since I wouldn't have the know-how to even get started. But when good online discussions, videos, step-by-step guides, etc. on home maintenance projects are a google away, I am much more confident and better equipped to tackle projects myself.

I used to shave with just water and a hand full of soap suds (from bar soap). Since I got my recent job and see that the biker guy has a full beard and long hair, I have stopped shaving all together. It was a little gross when I had a sinus infection and started drooling in my sleep but other than that, having a beard is cool. For some reason, people give me lots of room at the supermarket and shops now. Cool!
