Anyhow, I didn't say what you mean, I merely said it was hard to follow. I am not sure if Romania is already in the EU or not, or using the Euro or not. If they are not yet, I am sure it is on the way and that it should happen in a few years. What I know for sure is that Turkey is not a member yet and is facing a lot of opposition concerning its membership.
I am also aware that Czechoslovakia split into Czech Republic and Slovakia for more than 10 years, yet I still sometimes refer to "Czechoslovakia" when listing European countries. (And I often mention Soviet Russia when posting anonymously on slashdot, but this is another matter).
I don't know much about US politics but wikipedia states that "Tallahassee became the capital of Florida in 1824."
For their (and my) defense, the countries composing the European Union are changing a lot more than the states in the USA. Well, even the European countries have changed names/frontiers a lot since I left school (where I had to learn this kind of stuff).
It is indeed quite difficult to remember which countries are in Europe (the continent) and/or European Union and/or using the Euro currency.

I also wonder how well you could do by checking the photo's timestamp, then examining the shadows to determine the sun angle.
You need accurate timestamps to calculate that. My camera does not adapt automatically to DST and I forgot to make the change myself. Moreover, I do not think of changing its clock either when I go visiting other countries...

Your email is already indexed, and searchable better and faster than a desktop app will be able to.
Except if you want to sort messages by size, or by sender... Or if you want to search your mails for a substring (e.g. a search for "Hel" may return nothing even though "Hello" is present in a lot of messages).
