I'd have to disagree here - I'm sure there are more people like me out there, who like the idea of a Sci-Fi online game, but don't like the fact that you can't step outside of your ship... I see on your post that they are putting in an FPS section, but I can't help but think that it will feel like an afterthought (mostly because it is...) and it won't really feel like it's one whole game, but two separate games.
However, to be fair, it will be no small feat to make the Firefly game coalesce into something truly engaging the way WoW is and the way SWG isn't... I don't think EVE online is the same sort of game. I see EVE online as more of a TradeWars for the internet generation... I don't think a Firefly game has to be intensely space-combat based the way EVE is - the show barely had any real space combat. If they're successful, it will be just as much fun avoiding space combat as it will to engage in it.
So basically I guess what I'm saying is that there's enough people playing WoW, SWG, and EVE online that like what they're playing, but will find a successful implementation of this Firefly game more compelling... At least that's how I feel.
I have a laptop with RAID right now. Sager has a model or two with Promise Raid support. I don't use it since the second harddrive failed, but I was using it before that in a striped RAID config - it did boost performance a bit.
Mine isnt. Graunted it would fail a drop test, but it hardly gets picked up that often either... Its constructed very well. Every connector, hinge, and seam is solid. Its also the fastest machine ive used to date, and has every feature i had in my desktop in a portable (read: luggable) package. And what the heck does 'plasticky'? All laptops are made of plastic (save the few titanium or aluminium machines)...
Hmm... From " for one would love to peek around in this, more out of curiosity than any desire to actually do something useful with it." to "As much as I'd love to peek around in this, I won't risk it." in 16 minutes. What changed your mind?
It should be noted that Rockstars games do one thing he should be proud of: Focus on gameplay. Is there a more replayable game on the market to rival the GTA's? I doubt it...
Yeah, you're right. They really need to perfect that 'jacket' technology... I thought jackets were just a fad, but now i think they might stick around...
So one guy mentions OCR and everyones jargon meter gets pegged. HELLO! it was in jest. OCR = Optical Character Recognition. Meaning, SOMEONE WHAT CAN READ. duh.
many PC's? Lets see of the last 50 or so PC's that ive encountered how many have had a slot cd... oh! 1! but it was a mac. d'oh.
ive actually been carrying lnx-bbc around for a while. a cd in a wallet lasts roughly a month so ive seen... but it dosent crack. it warps.

working for less than the regular price belittles the profession; hands down. the same problem exists in the local music industry. if you make your going price lower than the local market, you alienate the rest of your industry. you give the customer a reason to demand less. that only floods the market with half-trained ignorants who dont care what the product is that theyre dealing, only with the money theyre getting.
hello complacinecy.

companies that deal in telephony only want one thing: the product should work with little interaction.
this does not happen very often with linux apps of any flavour. that being said, the communications company i work for (name Vithheld) deals mostly with SCO and OS/2 or QNIX (crazy canadians) for ACD and voicemail respectively... i've tried pitching the linux angle plenty of times, but go back to my first point if you want to know why it didnt work out...
So how long till we have 'MS Garbage Removal' where a program moves your files to the 'Microsoft Garbage Dump' located in senic redmond; just in case you need them later...
Seriouslly tho, the trash can isnt a bad thing - but it should probably be integrated into the filesystem... (i.e. remove from the allocation table, but reserve the space until file is removed from trash)
Lack of multiplayer is the reason i'm NOT buying GTA3 for PC. What fool made this decision? Or is it simply an engine problem? GTA2 had wonderful multiplayer setup. How disapointing. I guess I'll have to go out and buy the PS2 version - as soon as it goes down in price; It should be a 'greatest hit' title like GT3 by now.
These operating systems have been around for quite some time, I dont expect they're going to change an already recognized name because you think its not paletable... Besides, when I think 'Inferno' I think fast, which is good. But when I think 'Plan 9' I think Ed Wood - which does nothing for an operating system... I've strayed from my point haven't I?

This is why they make a tool called a 'IC Chip inserter/extractor' - usually comes stock with any computer toolkit.

Not to be pendantic, but isnt it: "What is your name, oh mighty wizard?" "There are some who call me...." "...Tim?"
Mister Show with Bob and David. Fantastic stuff, really.

It looks a little like Tolkiens elvish language...

oh and besides, it'd be 15 feet tall and weigh 2 and a half tons... and thats the portable.
Microsoft Security gets an 'F'...
Whats good for the goose is good for the gander, i suppose.

This reminds me of a quote I heard once...
'Character is doing the right think when nobody's looking'
