    Yeah,

I went to see the Fray at the Gothic Theater in Denver the other night. I had never really been exposed to any of their stuff other than the 3-4 songs that I heard on the radio. I must say this. If you have them on the radio, then you've pretty much heard what every song they have sounds like. They may know how to play music, they sounded good, but they definately could not go out of the 3-4 chords and key they already know.

There was one exception that was refreshing in an odd, hey this sounds different, kind of way, and I don't know the name of the song. They (Fray) self-described it as "the bumping song".

By halfway through the show I was definately getting tired of the lead singers Whiney voice.

Whether this is the Labels influence or not, I don't know.

  22. Re:Trusts DNS instead of CA signature on Google's Obfuscated TCP · · Score: 1

Umm AFAIK all SSL/TLS certs require them to be signed by a CA even "self-signed" certs. The difference between a self signed cert and a cert you get from Verisign is that a self signed cert is signed by a CA that you created yourself. Your CA cert is NOT included in any browser by default. You can make a self-signed cert act just like a Verisign cert by adding the CA cert to your browsers "Trusted CA's" store. The problem is that all your visitors must add your cert to their browsers "Trusted CA" store as well

A unsigned cert is called a Certificate Request, and is unusable by anything until it is "signed" by a CA.

An official CA like Verisign can be thought of as a notary. The reason you pay them to sign your Certificate Request is that they're supposed to verify you are who you say you are.

  25. Re:Malaysia..... on Malaysian Blogger On Trial For Sedition · · Score: 1

I read your comment a few times, and I believe that the point your trying to make is that many countries have laws/quotas in place that give preferential treatment to various peoples. In Malaysia, the laws/quotas enforce the *majority*. Whereas in other countries they are geared towards the minorities. I agree with you that teaching these concepts as part of the religous upbringing only compounds the issues.

I also agree that stereotyping is a part of the human psyche, no one is immune. One of the things that I find interesting is that one of the stereotype native Malay's have of themselves is that native Malay's are somewhat "lazy".

That being said, I like Malaysia, my experiences there are overwhelmingly positive. The country is beautiful and there is lots of stuff to do and see there. Really the only thing I absolutely don't like about Malaysia is the weather. Then again I don't like the Southern United States for the same reason. Way too Hot and Humid for my tastes.
