    I know this will sound overly American. And I also expect some modd downs. But is not how much of a mess you make....... but how well you cleanup. I think we do make a ****** mess, but we are far more capable of cleaning up after ourselves than anyone else. Whether we clean it up on someone else's soil is a different political matter.

    I have gotten a letter once from comcast supposedly for violating some Digital Millenium Rights Act thing downloading movies illegally. So was this a comcast message in disguise that they don't want me using the bandwidth? What actually happens when you reach the cap? Do they email you a letter? Do they shut you down permanently or monthly?

    Even ethernet is not 100% reliable. A tiny rip in the cable and you have to rewire the whole house. That cannot happen with wireless.

    I know the communists are up to something. Internet and TV are separate items. Why do we assume they should get CNN and other US based channels? We don't have any real PRC mainland tv receptions on our local providers? We only get the spanish channel.

    This seems to be brought up time and again. If you care to read up on the history this is a vastly different topic than iraq. "Peoples republic of China" is a mere shadow of its former self, "China". It was once a super nation before the 1950s commmunists. Currently it is a one party dictator style regime ruthless in retaining power. The falun gong persecution articles will turn some stomaches. And you wonder how are these people are making our sneakers.

    I know I have said a lot of smack on slashdot including trashing the president. And the FBI never showed up at my front door. That probably is the biggest difference between US and China.

    Japan is civilized only because the government has 100% control of who goes in and out of the country. Is a small land, easy to watch over. They are anti-minorities. I got respect for their low crime rates but things be different if they let everybody in.

    That depends on your definition of hard. People have fought over sugar, weed and other happy substances. I guess DVDs could also be on the list. It better be a good movie.

    Isn't the whole point of vandalism to get attention? Wasn't there an article about this on slashdot awhile back having to do with filling a missing psychological void like getting a hard-on. People who vandalize lesser known articles, especially hidden vandalism, wooooo have some serious issues.
