The drinking was probably an after-effect of the horrid industrial situations of the days. With men and children working 12+ hour days in unsafe factories for pennies a day, it is unsurprising that they turned to the bottle for relief. Now that labor laws are in place there is less depression and desperation in the cities.
Many modern countries in today's world have no drinking age and there are no unusual epidemics of alcoholism.

They love! They share! They share and love and share! Love, love, love! Share, share, share! The Itchy and Scratchy Show!
Itchy and Scratchy are sitting in rocking chairs on a porch with a table holding a pitcher of lemonade between them. The dialogue is as follows :
Itchy: Lemonade? [3-second pause] Scratchy: Please. Itchy: I made it just for you. Scratchy: You are my best friend. Itchy: Mm, this really hits the spot. Scratchy: Doesn't it, though. Itchy: You make really good lemonade, Scratchy. Scratchy: [embarrassed] Oh, thank you, Itchy. [superimpose a heart with `The End' on it]
So wait, are we not being shown pictures of naked starving African pictures because it's child porn or because we don't the media to remind us of the constant suffering of the world?
I'm so confused. Please give me less information.
P.S. Hmm, those pictures I took of Amazonian natives in Peru should probably be burned... before I am.
No, copying WoW might bring medium success, but if you want to beat WoW you'll need to raise the bar even higher, which might involve completely different tactics than WoW. Change is exciting, and if and when one comes along that is a wholly different game it may well usurp WoW. I doubt any clone with addons will.
It's cheating because the game was not designed to be played that way. The xp those monsters give out is clearly supposed to be split across a group of people who kill the mob.
The fact that WoW's software was not good enough to stop him does not mean it's not cheating when you consider the intent of the designer.
The GM is not a game designer.
All that said, he shouldn't be punished because of the circumstances, but to pretend that's not gaining an unfair or unintended advantage is bullshit. He didn't earn his xp the way he was meant to, plain and simple.
In some outlying cases, however, the intensive searches only increased the traveler's smiling.
Kinda how 'yankee' or 'redneck' is an insult, unless you are one, in which case it's a badge of pride.

I appreciate your point but heroine is far more addictive than nicotine.
Alcohol is not addictive except for a subset of the population, in which case it is as addictive as anything.
Watch the show 'Intervention'...
I knew a guy who did shrooms and ended up pissing and shitting himself in a babylike state, so they are certainly more extreme than pot.
Yea, sounds more like he owes $50 dollars.
Certainly car crashes are too big a problem with so many fatalities.
Government sanctioned buses should suffice.
You sue them and force the DA to drop the case, not blow up the policemen who earn low wage to risk their lives to keep the rule of law.
They have the unalienable right to life you know, which is just as important as your right to liberty.

My wife certainly seems to understand more than I do. How else would she expect me to know what I've done wrong?
don't worry about the immigrants their children become Americans and will follow same cultural rules as you.
that's true, for some the game is about exploiting bugs.

Puerto Rico rejects the vote to avoid federal taxes.
The other areas are too small to qualify for statehood and representation, but do not pay federal taxes either.
