If the only reason for the technical measures is to get around the law, then sure. But that's not really the case here. Anyway, nobody will know till it hits the courts.
I keep seeing on eBay these days you can get an Android tablet for about $40. And it has a screen, a touch screen at that. Presumably internally it is some kind of ARM PC with storage and everything. So why is a bare bones ARM PC, especially at these prices good? And what can you realistically do with the damned thing anyway?
As Apple has shown, price is not just about technical specs, gigahertz and so forth. It also includes convenience and plug and play and just having a nice product the average consumer can slot in and have "just work". My guess is Dell can, if they really apply themselves, do a lot better than a Rasberry Pi.
Yes exactly. People use this "starvation mode" thing as an excuse. When I'm having trouble losing weight, I go back to first principles: If I don't put calories into my body, I will lose weight. Works every time.
Good question. If they did it "right" they would ask the user what to do, the same as in a normal browser. Something tells me that any company stupid enough to do something like this might not be doing a good job of it.
Yeah, I think this is the ideal answer right here. It's not going to be practical in some cases, either because the code base is simply too fragile, or the project too critical to risk, or else because the guy was hired to do something more productive, but in an ideal world, this is what would be done.
I hardly think anyone uses catholic to mean just generally universal. Rather catholic is used to describe traditional Christianity, yet not Roman Catholic. I.e. Easter Orthdoxy, Anglo-catholic etc.
Why buy into this plan? If doomsday comes, rock up to the shelters with an AK-47, and commandeer it. Even if you buy into it with $$, you'll still have to fight off the other 6 billion people to actually use it.
Yeah, he might sell more spots in this venture if he gave away a few free bonus spots to some hot young blondes. Otherwise 99% of the buyers will probably be old geriatric corporate guys.
At this point in your life, there is probably no hope you will gain a competent level in another language unless you are really motivated and that culture speaks to your heart. Only you can say what that language/culture might be.
I'm not sure why this is interesting. Apple has offered companies a way to upload their own private apps to IOS for years. Slightly different to this mechanism, but the same result.
iTunes 11 is a much better media player, BUT it is a much worse media manager. For me, I just use iTunes as a media manager. The major loss is the artwork pane. That is really inexcusable. Yes, you can see the artwork IF you play the song, but like I said, I don't play songs in iTunes, I do that on IOS. I don't WANT to bother other people in the room playing songs in iTunes, I JUST want to see the artwork. This really basic functionality is just gone in iTunes 11. MAJOR FAIL. There are other inexcusable losses in iTunes 11, but that is the worst one.
Yes but, I'm sure they are trying to promote their paid-for company through the software. The aim is not merely to disassociate yourself from the software to stop whining. The idea is to keep the strong link from your company to the software whilst educating the users.
Since testing IS the scientific method, if there is something wrong with the scientific method, this test will fail!
Last I checked, Dropbox gives you 2gb free, so 50gb free is pretty impressive, yes.

They may be immune from punishment, but they are certainly not immune from being kicked out of the job.
If you're not sure, let me explain. Java has a security model. C does not.

I don't think the cost of the glass would make that much impact in the scheme of things.

Imagine the body count when Al-Qaeda hack into these crematoriums. It will make 9/11 look like a small incident.

It's a top quality product, sure. But it is still just moulded plastic. They could sell it a LOT cheaper if they wanted.
I'm pretty sure the full impact of the internal combustion engine wasn't known in 1900.
Yeah, and then every man and his dog would have to re-implement that fix independently. Your suggestion is bat-shit crazy.

Err, because any app you download can p0wn your phone?
And a smaller amount who would blow 1.4B on the exploit. Then the number left stupid enough to risk their lives on it, is roughy zero point zero.

If that's true, the law has failed. The only reason we have law is to protect those with less resources from those with more.
