there is a difference between probable cause and a warrant. I quote:
Amendment IV
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
---------------
Ergo, the "no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause" statement makes probable cause unconstitutional grounds search until a warrant is issued, supported by oath or affirmation. Rights come before enforcement, anyone who understands their rights should know this.
even if they don't, the SCO people will be struck dead in the water, and IBM will keep chugging along. The AIX revocation issue seems to be plenty of grounds for a countersuit to me.
and if SCO were decimated, their possesions would be long gone. no company who loses very little would kill 10% of their employees. Fire perhaps, but not actual decimation.
what kind of sense does that make? decimation for a corporation equals destruction. once IBM is done with them our 10% of nothing would still be nothing...are you that mathematically declined?
not true. I live in a town of 1200 and we don't have even decent ISPs for the most part, much less fast download speeds (you try to download an ISO image or a new kernel source when you're on a 28.8 connection and tell me how you like it.) I know of a county capital a few counties over that most people are lucky to connect at 26, and get to pray it stays connected. Live out there for a bit and then you can say all you want. that was spoken like a true asshole.
you're damn skippy i'm trolling. it was a perfect thread for it too. However, I don't consider any term to have no use. I agree with Chris Rock's routine called "blacks vs. niggers" as well as not considering any alleged vulgarity such as fuck or shit to be of any continued offense in this day and age. Linguistics are something which should be well-defined. a nigger is an ignorant and quite possibly freeloading black person. Contextually, I think that that is a fine definition. Calling a doctor who happens to be black a nigger would be a misuse of the term. how's that?
actually i don't judge jack shit by the colour of anybody's skin. I simply feel that if the black people are going to use the term nigger that I can too, and if they don't want others to use it then they themselves should not. how fucking hard is that?
lets not forget the fact that i also consider you a complete fucking moron, but fortunately people have also have carried that term around with pride such as yourself.
fuck you. your shit is exactly what perpetuates that sort of thinking. Anyone who is offended needs to just cool the fuck off and let the word become freely used. I seem to recall it worked pretty well with the fags. They call each other fags, and use the term with pride. Yet I don't see anyone being reprimanded by fags for calling fags fags, because the fags made the word fag unoffensive by making it not matter. Clamoring for special usage of a term is ineffective and sets us back hundreds of years. And I have previously lived in San Francisco, so yes i've known enough fags to know from experience.
sure, if you like being told RTFM! and being called a stupid bitch whenever you try to get some help. the least they could do is give you the link to TFM
legal transferrence is simple. once someone owns a Windows CD and its associated key, it is theirs. Regardless of how you acquired it and what Microsoft would like to think, you own it and can sell and transfer it however you please. The EULA is as much FUD as everything else MS types as a disclapimer.
I'm with ya, buddy. I can type like a crazyman, but cursive is basically just fucking illegible. I'd much rather my kid learn to type than to write anything but their name in cursive anyhow. I agree they should be able to read it, but knowing how to write it is a worthless skill in this day and age.
well, this is true to a certain degree, but it's also incorrect. I don't recall anywhere on the box of my DVD does it say that I may only play it on an authorized player, nor do I recall anything stating specifically that I cannot play it in China. I bought the media that happened to have a movie on it, not a contract to play it whenever they see fit. A contract requires two signatures and an expiration date in the US.

well then...its a good thing I did all my kernel downloads from work when I worked at Microsoft, isn't it.

good point. how about total anihilation. that's far more likely.

you can have the TVs...I want their houses.
of course, its because 42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything!
where's the "what if" part come in?
why would we possibly need a class action when IBM is already going to countersue and utterly decimate them afterwards? we wouldnt get a cent.
finally, another person who can handle sanity among all these AC idiots. Thank you, sir, for making sense.

that's incorrect. have someone else click it. The fact is, most users have not agreed to MS's eula, the OEM company did.

and then trogdor come in the NIIIIIIIIIGHT!
but not as funny...i think its more insightful.

you should check out a movie called "Dumb & Dumber". That should amaze you too!
he's from Finland, but he now lives in Santa Clara or something (somewhere in Silicon Valley, at any rate) and works for TransMeta, a US company.
