AOL has ruined every good piece of software they've picked up. Look at ICQ. A once slim messenger program turned into pure bloat. Look at WinAMP, WinAMP 3 is bloat bloat bloat. Then look at Netscape 7, AOL features drag that down like lead weights. It'll be a good thing in the long run that AOL is stepping back from Mozilla.
My general question wasn't about the "street preaching" varients of Christianity though. I've noticed that the view point you have about the "street preaching" Christians was once true, but somhow of late it seems the focus has been shifted to all Christians and I'm wondering why.
It's gotten so bad you can hear two different non-practicing Christians yealling at each other about who's more of a Christian than another as though it were a bad thing... And I wanna know: What's up with THAT?
I wasn't really talking about religious fundamentalist Christians. just any Christians as the parent implied. I can agree with you completely on some of the fundamentalists of any religion, but it does seem as though regulay "joe-schmoe" Christians are increasingly singled out for no apparent reason -sometimes by other Christians, as though it were a bad thing to be one in general.
I Always hear this about Christians and no one has explained to me what's wrong with being a Christian. I'm genuinely curious. How can you just make a statement like that, with the gaul to think everyone knows what you mean. Enlighten me, because although I've heard it before, I have yet to hear what's wrong with being a Christian.
Now rich on the otherhand I understand completely, that guy's got all that money I was supposed to have.
Since when does image have anything to do with what you look like. Could not our intellegence and free will -our potential have been created in His image?
An image is a representation of something, and an image is not always true, but an image is not the original.
Since the public chooses where to spend its money.
You'd be surprised how much that can really make a difference. Many reasons things we don't like exist is because people don't care. That being said, there are times when people care and that's when the people do make a difference.
I believe that the whole "radiation thing" is enough to convince the public to care enough for them to stand up and oppose this --no matter how irrational the arguement about radiation may or may not be.
There are two reasons why the public will reject this:
No one will want to be seen naked with one of these cameras
The public already irrationally scared enough of irradiated meat, what do you think they are going to think of this? --no matter how safe it may really be

---"Composers haven't introduced new semi-tone notes, located between B and B-flat"
Well there are new semi-tones between B and B-flat -it's called temperment. (there are pianos with split keys for the A-sharp and B-flat)
And although the idea has been around for a while such as equal, pure major, pure minor, kirnberger, pythagorean, mean-tone, and werkmeister are seven common and mostly old temperments, but I've seen more developed as recently as 2 months ago. There are indeed many new temperments being devised even now (ask a piano tuner).
---"Pianos haven't progressed to 2,000 1mm-wide keys, or introduced three-dimensional keyboards, or decided to have little-endian keyboards with the low notes beneath your right hand fingers, or added green keys above the white keys, or added a Dvorak mechanism placing the most commonly played notes beneath your fingers."
As far as evolution, well piano itself maybe not, but keyboard instrument? Oh yeah they have! MIDI?! Pipe Organs?! Sythesizers?! Ever see the number of buttons on a Wurlitzer? What about the foot pedals? How about Piano Discs or Disklaviers.
Just because you choose to only learn to play a piano does not mean the field has not evolved, Just as Tandy-Basic has not evolved it doesn't mean C or C# or Java or PHP do not exist. I think the piano analogy does indeed hold true.
Students today need cursive to succeed in society about as much as I need Morse code to listen to NPR during drive time...
Hey Hey go easy on the Morse! I had to learn it, so should you! and I had to learn cursive too, which means all them little brats need to be strapped down with leather belts and beat with rulers by nuns until they can write real nice!
Alright now on to the more insightful part of the post...
I think we all should learn how to write ---AND more importantly read cursive script. But it's obvious the reasons for doing so are not the same as they once were. Perhaps now we should consider writing to be more on the level of Japanese Calligraphy. Think about it... you could mix art and writing together - what a novel concept, it could even be fun. We should teach it that way but it would need to STILL BE COMPULSORY -but just by having that little attitude adjustment on how and why we teach it, could make for better handwriters.
This was going to happen. It happened because, it's a video game.
It's about time it happened to.
You may have noticed I didn't explain in much detail this time. That's because if you don't already know and understand my point, you'll never get it and I'm not going to preach to the choir.
But that's still a Saturn V. China needs to make one of them (or equiv.) yet. Not to mention you still have to do something with that cargo on the moon once it's there.
That isn't all that much cargo either, think the ISS weighs 393,733 lbs (178,594 kg)
Something is going to have to assemble it - humans, robots -something- The ISS has a total of over 300 Hours over 50 spacewalks about half from the shuttle and half from the ISS itself.
AND the moon has gravity!
Even if most of the construction is as automated as possible, you still need a lot of crap up there to get it going.
Why is it when I think of this all that comes to mind is a gigantic lunar concrete pad? (the "base", get it?) -Atleast most of the materials for that are already on the moon. (maybe)
I just don't think the timeframe is right. It took the US quite a while just to get someone to the moon at all.
Well I suppose you could send a pre-fab winnebago-style base, but that seems rather far fetched. It took a Saturn V to get 3 men to the moon, imagine what it will take to send prefab units of almost any kind.
Pro:
My card won't wear out before it expires 6 years from now
Con:
Now I can have my number stolen without comming into physical contact with the theif --This could be a pro if you consider it could make getting robbed a whole lot safer.
New CD's for $14.00 Canadian, Woohoo -I'm getting in my car right now and drive there ya hey.
It seems the Recording Industry likes Canadians better, they're only charge you twice what they're music is worth.
$14.00 Canadian is $10.18 US dollars 5/27/2003 @ 12:00 NoonBank of Canada
All things fair, the music is worth whatever they can sell it for.... pity is they'd sell sooooo much more if it were cheaper, they'd make even more money in the long run. Too bad they'll never try it.
In 1999, I saw the Matrix 3 times in theaters - $25
I already saw the movie in theaters once. $10.
I will see it with my dad. $20
I bought the first Matrix DVD. $20
I bought the Matrix Revisited DVD $20
I will buy the Animatrix DVD -- unknown cost.
I will buy Reloaded on DVD - $20
I will see Revolutions, twice in theaters, $20
I will buy Revolutions on DVD - $20
Being able to have a fun computer copy for free on top of all I spent.... Priceless
The Thai daily even reported that the ICT is negotiating with other local and international vendors to produce more PCs because it fears that HP will not be able to keep up with the demand.
That's the clincher! It isn't always how cheaply you can build this, but if you can keep up with demand. With wishful thinking that this could spill over to the rest of the world. The real question is can ICT get someone else to make some of these. After that can we get them distributed to the rest of us?...
If only HP makes these it will never happen, but maybe this could eventially make its way throughout the industry.
You see if you've broken into a computer, you've pointed out how insecure it was. In pointing this out, they now know they have to fix it. Fixing it costs money.
Being blissfully ignorant of a problem doesn't cost them anything. Once they are aware of it, it needs to be fixed. This may be a case of killing the messenger but you see the person who makes them aware they have to pay money for something ultimately is he who causes the financial hardship in their minds.
Remember it is we who forced these people to have to learn about things they'd rather not. It is we who better watch our backs for the smallest thing that frightens them will cause them to pick up their pitchforks and torches!

I'm sorry, but you lost me with that one. Could you re-phrase that so those of us who have a contiguous train of thought will also understand?
What exactly is wrong with being a Christian?
