The biggest problem they are going to have is customer interest. There are already many steaming music services out there. They don't just have to convince people to try their service. They have to convince people to switch from a service they are already using.
There is always room for someone who does it better.
Remember when facebook displaced myspace?
I'm not saying it is going to happen but it is possible.
You can hardly blame tech companies for a lack of diversity when the talent pool coming out of universities is milk toast.

While I admit some companies are just horrible but sometimes this is the by product of doing things right.
The company I work for hires 2/3rds employees with under 5 years experience most of which are recent college grads. With in three years most of these employees have been fired or promoted and the need for more entry level positions exists and the cycle starts again. Promoting from with in rewards employees for hard work and boosts company morale.

That is how Disney makes money. They release a movie. Sell the hell out of it. Then they yank it off the market and tell you they are going to do so thus heightening the demand for the product.
Even if this is not the case if a company chooses to no longer sell a product that doesn't mean you can go and give it away for free. They own the IP rights. They spent the time and money to develop it. It's their right.
As far as nonexhistant companies go it's sorta like grave robbing.

That's funny.
Let you ask you this. Why are there more commercials on nonbroadcast channels i pay for such as TNT and USA? If you watch any of these cable channels the comercial break is sometimes longer than the amount of movie they play before the next comercial break.
Comercials are for one thing only. Profit. And they will will keep adding more comercials and raising the cable rates because we are to fat and lazy to get our asses off the couch.
