    I don't like the idea of closed-source binaries any more than the next guy, but I also like to play games. For me, that means I have to deal with using nvidia instead of nv.

    I'd love to use all open-source; but it has to be useable for my needs, first. That's why I've always appreciated Linus's perspective on the BitKeeper flamefest.

    I imagine that would be a valid argument if my sig was my post. But it's not. The sig is a decorator, and nothing more. If people was to quote Yakov Smirnov in their sigs, more power to them. I only ask that their post, if intended to be funny, contains something creative or original.

    Neros advantage is that it works, period. If you think that k3b works period with a full featureset on all hardware then feel free to peruse any distro mailing lists and forums for people who can't get burning to work. Especially of DVDs.

    So if K3b works on all my systems (and it does), then Nero really doesn't have an advantage at all, does it? I don't really give a crap if Joe-Bob on the Debian list can't get K3b to work; for me, it works, period.

    He says at the bottom that much of the research was paid for by LimeWire. I was wondering throughout the article why he was givng LimeWire such a clean bill of health, when my experience has not been so good.

    The disclosure does say something for his integrity, but I fear his appraisal may be somewhat biased (intentional or not) in favor of LimeWire.

    Ok, stolen? We can't have it both ways. If it isn't stealing music, but copyright infringment instead, how is this any different? Just cause it's not the **AA being ripped off it's stealing now? Gimme a break.

    People can download and distribute PearPC all day long; they don't care. What this is more akin to is me take a Britney Spears album, adding a really annoying bass beat, and calling it "Halivar's Greatest Hits".

    For some reason, I don't think OBL would appreciate being placed in that particular context. Likely as not, he'd kill the others for no other reason than to make a political statement.

    However, since Ghandi and Nelson Mandela were big proponents of civil disobedience (break the bad laws and face the music), we'll be more than happy to treat OBL the same. By killing his ass, of course.
