RTFA. This plant is for making TV's, not iPhones. FoxConn is a huge manufacturer. Apple is ONE of their clients. They also supply Nintendo, Sony, and a number of phone companies. They also own Sharp, hence the flat-screen TV plant.
The state needs to pay for those roads, police, and courts regardless of whether FoxConn is there, or not. Fire departments, too. The state needs the grow the tax base, not just the tax percentage. There's a delicate balance. (Source: SimCity on a Mac LC II in 1990)
Oh, dear lord, it's like talking to a brick wall. "If this guy does X, we are going to do Y to him." That's a threat. You look like an idiot for trying to rationalize otherwise. Worse, you look like a corporate shill.
Americans are still provincial enough to believe that an English accent of any kind lends sophistication and cachet. Except, you know, Australian (all we know about those guys is whatever we saw on Crocodile Dundee; also, we imagine they all sound like Steve Irwin).
This is weird. You don't trust airlines to manage airspace, but you DO trust them with your life by letting them hurl you through the sky in a big metal brick. If you cannot trust them for the former, you are a fool to trust them for the latter.
If everyone who hated Trump went out and suddenly did these things due to our leaving the Paris Accord, it would have a bigger positive effect on the environment than the Accord itself. Furthermore, these are things self-proclaimed environmentalists could (and should have) have been doing all along.
Also, and correct me if I'm wrong here, the US has a 2/3 import/export ratio with the EU. A tariff war would disproportionately affect the EU. In fact, other than food products and overvalued pop media, I'm not sure what exactly we have to slap tariffs on.
What troll gave you the off-topic mod? Actually I came by to see if anyone had asked explicitly if trying to destroy the planet should count as grounds for impeachment? I actually think it might fit under "high crimes or misdemeanors" of some sort, but the fabulous founders couldn't cover EVERY base.
I think the intent was for elections to handle the rest.

Fuck me. I'm so fucking stupid. Thank you. I LIVED there, for god's sakes.
Of course. Why would you not prefer 5 percent of something over 30 percent of nothing? Michigan needs this, and not even just for the jobs.
I can't decide between "Citation needed" or "That's what she said."
$250K will get you a cup of joe in Seattle.
It is trends that matter, not data points. Every moment of the entire arc of Chrome winning the browser war could be captioned, "Microsoft still #1."
Do you even know what blackmail is? I don't think you do.
It's different inasmuch as 1) no crime was committed, and 2) CNN is not vested with prosecutorial or judicial powers.

What are you talking about? CNN isn't threatening him. Not by any legal or moral standard
That's equivocating bullshit. The meaning of their statement is clear.
I'm disappointed that you didn't lead with a Trump angle on the previous Sci-Hub piracy article. It's like you didn't even try. This one was better.

We now know the identity of the shooter. Choice quotes from FB: "The road to hell is paved with dead republicans"
Everything is an indicator of fascism, if you pick your indicators right. Also, fascists breathed. Beware.

I meant export/import ratio. /sigh

When Apple releases a new laptop, that's the laptop they're going to sell you for the next 5 years. (For better or worse)
I have some magic cables to sell you.
According to the metaphor, isn't this Microsoft and Apple teaming up to remove the wall between their respective gardens?
This doesn't fall under free market because Comcast is using government granted right of ways for its cabling that smaller ISPs do not have.
And this is why I don't support net neutrality. It's fixing the wrong problem.
