A lot of universities allow specialized access to certain sites, like ACM, etc, where a fee would normally apply for access.
Back in college, some friends and I for a senior paper at my smaller university drove down to a major Big 12 school to their computing and engineering library on a Saturday morning with our laptops, hoping to get some references for out papers. We got there around 9:00 am, and they didn't open until 1:00 pm. We sat down on the steps in the hallway outside of the library and could access their wireless network, along with some of those special sites. In probably 45-60 minutes, we had more than enough sources to write our papers!
Read the article folks. It says: "I feel that Lula no longer reflects the vision I have had for it and has in fact belittled itself as an organization for change and progress."
And again: "NewsForge: But what does this have to do with a Linux Users' Group? Or do you just feel your time can be of more benefit applied elsewhere?
Claiborne: Nothing directly, and I will still participate in the LUG, just let new leadership come to the fore."
He didn't quit being president of the LUG because of the war in Iraq!
Untrained users just click on the Yes button because the majority of them don't know any better. Then when their PC won't boot, or IE crashes all the time, they call up Dell to tell them what a horrible PC they have. If you take care of a PC, you won't have these problems. Dell should advise users to uninstall (and check the registry for compliance). No EULA should ever say "This program cannot be uninstalled."

SCO will be offering an introductory license price of $699 for a single CPU system through October 15th, 2003
I thought SCO's beef was with infected SMP code? Therefore, if you do not use multiple processors, you don't use SMP code, therefore there is no need to license a run-time license. Right?
How many architechures does Solaris support? Sparc and x86? Is that all?
How many does Linux support?
It will simply be illegal to sell them in the U.S.
Wrong.
If you read the article, it will be illegal to import or manufacture them after this date. Check ebay after the date for a tuner 2x normal price. =)
After 125 miles:
"I stomped on the brakes as hard as I could and the car finally stopped," he said.
I think that would be one of the first things I'd try. I'm sure this was a scary situation!
Oh sorry. "Politics for nerds." You'll never see an anti-Democrat, anti-Libertarian, anti-Green, or anti-Independant story here.
Stick to NPR.
*turns off the politics section*

Also note the difference between QRM and QRN:
QRM: man-made interference, someone calling CQ 5 KHz up and trampling on your QSO
QRN: natural interference, fading signals or natural band noise.
Of course you can't forget QSO ("QUE-so"), which means a conversation ("thank you for the QSO")
... since the laser-sliced bread!
3 year warranty: priceless

Check out the docs and FAQs on the OpenZaurus website. Also here is a 'Why OpenZaurus' document.
I like OZ better because the PIM apps offer more to me than the normal apps. However, I haven't gotten the Hancom apps or Opera to work yet on OZ.
The newsletter says that kernels and root images will be available within 48 hours.
Why? Are you ultra paranoid?
Go grab chrootkit and run it on your systems and make check for yourself.

Hotmail didn't just die... it seems to be on life support.
Microsoft pushed it's popularity to the point where spammers use it for faked From:'s and you can almost block all @hotmail.com addresses.
An MS-owned search engine of any kind is to be feared because of its terrible state and its default use on the browser that is default on Windows!!!
you can obfusicate code by using one-letter variables and refusing to use spaces in *any* language
That suspiciously looks like the old yellow submarine at the ride at Disneyland...
Professors in the college of law have the time to also represent the university in a potential, extremely high profile law suit? Hah!
Sounds like they might be a little scared of lawsuits. I'd think that colleges don't have that much budget for a legal team.
