I guess my question is does the stress just get shifted or does this mouse actually help you overcome the stress involved with RSI (not RSS as I used above).
Here's an uninformed question: is RSS actually cured by changing the position of the hand, or is this treating the symptoms? I've got nothing against selling relief for a problem, but does it really fix the problem?
I think the best way for Apple to get Rendevous networking in the PC world is to start with iTunes 4. Just yesterday I was looking for a Rendevous plugin for winamp, didn't find one, but when iTunes comes out for the PC, I'll probably switch. (my work pc is a windows box, my home box runs OSX). It's all about leveraging their software to get their more lucrative divisions more business (Music store, hardware, etc.)
You should do what my friends do: make your own from paper towels.
Just cut the roll in half and store it in a tupperware container to keep it moist.
Not sure what brand paper towel they use though, a cheap one might be pretty rough.
The problem is you no longer have implied context in conversations. Every time you email a friend about the newest release of Firebird, you have to say, FirebirdDB or Firebird the browser. It isn't a big deal to some, but to others (say, people who will use both for a project or everyday at work) neither product may as well have a name, as you have to use a redundant moniker with every instance.
This happens to all projects, irregardless of size. Developers will eventually believe that a total restart is the only way to fix problems. It's kinda sad, but I'm as guilty of it as anyone. I don't know how many times I've rewritten a project cuz I didn't like how it turned out, or couldn't fix a bug in the system quite right.
Same thing here.
The fallacy comes in the notion that something can be perfectly engineered. Nature teaches us that a vulnerability will be found, the weakest link will break, and that the internet will have problems in it.
Just cuz you don't like SMTP doesn't mean you should try to take it away from everybody.
For guys who consider Oracle and other commerical RDBMS their competition, they sure seemed to enjoy pointing out the faults of MySQL.
In my opinion, OSS needs to be more friendly to each other. If one project lacks features, don't bash them, what's the point? Just focus on your own project, and leave other people alone, especially if they're bashing you too. So what if MySQL has a marketing department. The internet was supposed to be about exchanging ideas, not bashing other people's ideas.
You don't let consumers design keys to their house do you? How many people would pick a key with a really simple to determine scheme? The fact is the end-user is too gullible to be allowed to have keys which they think they understand to any kingdom. For this reason, I think real hardware keys are a better bet for computer security. End user security needs to be redesigned from the ground up to take away the user's power.
Remember, with great power comes great responsibility. The sad fact is most end users are not ready for such responsibility.
I agree, not watching the trailer for Lord of the Rings: Fellowship yadda yadda led to one of the best movie experiences for me since watching Return of the Jedi when I was 4.
Do you really need more reasons to be mad at your PDA?
Just give Joe a PDA that sasses back and watch as he chucks it across the room into the wall at 50 miles per hour. Actually, that'd be awesome for Palm et al--more broken pdas yields more pda replacements...
Everyone's griping about the whole mirroring situation and lack of a policy.
This story presented a good way for ISOs to be distributed.
Everyone and their grandma is looking for a way to "legitimize" P2P sharing without involving music.
Why doesn't slashdot start a P2P mirror. Simple gzip the page that's cool to look at, and host it via bittorrent or kazaa. Bandwidth gets shared among the slashdot community, and no site gets hit too hard (except google, which will invaribly be linked to by people who insist on posting google cache links in nearly every discussion;) Sound good?
porto san comes porno san!

Since you posted the link, I guess it's that time of the month again?
Truly beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I heard it was that Lucas didn't think he'd get to ep6 so he put a wookie in ep4.

Double your investment!

my parent's had me drink Amoco Silver as a child. Super clean means super smart!
just learn Navajo. Works for some people.

Come on guys, it should be
News for Nerds. Stuff that matters.

in other words, you can't try it unless you've used their older versions. bummer

prepare to kiss your website goodbye...good thing this is a Sunday!
Truly, "They Live" would be such a fitting movie to show.
If it was an GPL'd codec, I'd suggest the Communist subversion speech form Dr. Strangelove.
At least you live up to your name, Overly Whiny Guy.
I was wondering how they would justify taking 5 years before reaching 2.0. Now we know :)
Seriously though, good idea. I'd love to see the whole Mozilla project turned into a Gecko app and everything else be plugins! Now that'd be cool!
It sounds like you've never had a non-technical boss.
