Yeah, the first rule of CS Test-taking at GA TECH, Never Use A Pen! My first test was so bad they made me make it up on an absentee version. They insisted, of course, that I use pencil.
True True, they did that specifically because the TA's see people doing all thier assignments with other people. And its usually one guy who shows everyone else how to do a certain thing. This leads to people forgetting (or not even getting) the important points of the lesson, and since the Assignments account for 65 percent of the grade, tests are put in the backseat. I personally don't like tests, but what other way is there? A low test average will not weed out the "sharing" people.
This is unfair to the non-"sharing" people (like me) who spent 12 hours working on a certain part of a program, skipping sleep and food, while they scream down the hall that they finished.
The reason they changed it is because they felt that the ones getting the help weren't CS majors, but other students who were going to the CS majors who didn't need help were getting busted for helping their non-cs friends.
Or, as in the N64 and Smash Bros. Melee versions, Gannondorf! I still suprised at the number of people who confuse the two, and aren't as nerdy cool as me.
The funny thing is, I've been to a dozen raves, but never liked playing Pac-Man.

Heck, A local ISP we used for 2 years stopped sending us a bill for our dial-up. We ended up with a year of free Dial-up service, and we never got a bill. We were gonna cancel, but they didn't even give us the chance. Those BASTARDS!
Ever tried Cancelling a card you dont have yet?

It took me three hours on hold and about 5 different service numbers just to explain why I dont have an account number.
Those were My Saturday morning Cartoons! Demon City 080, Vampire Hunter D, Street Fighter 2 the movie... man I miss those, but somehow sci-fi channel thought that "paid programming" would get MORE viewers, so I have to watch my fansubs and hope someday.
third world country, I only work 3 days a week,
and sit around the house the other 4. I make enough to get by, and it is an especially good life.
Now a Meglomart opens up in our town. It offers alot of stuff and can subsidize the price until it runs everyone else out of business. Then a lot more "Globally run" companies arrive, looking for people to buy more stuff they dont need. While simultaneously driving most of the small town shops out of business. These shops include you. Now you suddenly find yourself working for Meglomart or Burger World 6 days a week making just as much as you did when you were fishing. But half of the money you spend at Meglomart is going back to the United states. So you are working to make someone you never met rich. You are now a consumer. Welcome to the club.
But it would make those guys with white labcoats
and wierd sunglasses that dig through My trash
cans reeeeaaally happy!

Yes it does, to me anyway.. I feel that just responding with an opinion is a good way to contribute to the slashdot. Unfortunately there is a lack of well thought out responses, and don't even get me started with the trolls. They should all be raped by goats; that would cut down on the nasty.
Actually, I thought The Guyver was rather cool. OK, so I watched the first movie when I was 9 or so, but I remember watching the 2nd one when I was about 14 and I actually liked it, even though I realised that the first one was pathetic.
The Target audience will probably be 9 - 14.
Can anyone see that this could be worse than, oh say, that Ninja Turtles live action movie thats already sucked its way across the early ninties(along with vanilla ice, but thats another topic altogether). I can just picture it now, krillian shouting,"cowabunga!"
"could someone please clarify for me why anime is so popular? I mean, it's just a Japanese form of animation, and we have all kinds of great animation in the US, with shows like Family Guy and Futurama. Of course, I've seen some great anime-ish type video games like Jet Grind Radio for the Dreamcast, which uses this weird cel shading technique. I'm just genuinely curious as to why anime is so popular, I haven't seen much of it in the mainstream but among certain crowds it seems really popular."
My reasons for liking anime:
1. The stuff I watch isn't censored, I get to see real drama in anime, while it seems to be targeted at a slightly more mature crowd. The simpsons and futurama are just as great, but they are mainly comedy driven, which is fine in itself.
2. Most american cartoons on saturday morning seem to be cookie-cutter rip-offs of the same crap thats been on the air for 20 years. Mostly good-guys with no flaws looking beautiful fighting ugly badguys that are robots or aliens so there's no problem with "destroying them". I guess this goes back at target audience and censorship.
3. Anime feels more Artistic (just an opinion, its probably commercialized to death over in japan) than the american stuff, it almost seem to enjoy creating the images they produce. I just don't get that feeling when watching any current cartoons or even tv shows.
As a student at Georgia Tech who has taken one of the suspect classes and is currently attending the other, I find that getting help from other students is not actually cheating. I got help from other students in the class. The trick, however was dealing with the problems on an abstract level first, (for instance, I had the hardest time with tail recursion, until my roommate told me it was just adding a variable to keep all the data stored) and then figuring out on your own how to implement the solution to get the desired result. The one's caught by this cheatfinder simply took the easy way out, they asked exactly how to code certain stuff, and even copied code.
Built in Projector, for those important meetings where you get to show everyone your high-score in Tetris.

I refuse to work in groups too!
All you really need to do is make it *worth* the other members *while*.
eh, but if everyone else is a joke, I just end up doing it myself. It looks better that way, and thats how it should be.

I use a credit card to unlock my door when I get locked out. BAN ALL PLASTIC CARDS NOW!!!
Actually, My brother works for a local Cable-provider, and they make 10-13 dollars an hour.
You must not like that server much...
Can we have a moment of silence please?
As Jay once said, "Dude, I think I just filled the cup.."
But seriously, think Halflife with the graphics of the Final Fantasy movie.

If we do that, then the **Trolls** have already won!
The problem with globalism is that it creates
slaves out of anyone who isn't smart enough or
aggresive enough to take advantage of it.
For Example, lets say I work as a fisherman in a
third world country, I only work 3 days a week,
and sit around the house the other 4. I make enough to get by, and it is an especially good life.
