yup, this one. I'd really like to see it finished as SQ was my favorite series but I think there were some different circumstances.
There have been a couple other fan made games linked over at spacequest.net and a remake of SQ2 in the works at IA
In the article, he says "The development team had put out a new release on Friday evening and my team received no training on the release. When I previously asked Dirk about knowledge transfer he had laughed and said any idiot should be able to figure out the new features on their own."
That sounds to me like he tried to get his team trained on the new release but the VP of software development wasn't interested in sharing what had changed. How is that his fault?
It's built on Nagios and several other projects. So basically Nagios with a really nice gui front-end to get things setup. I've been messing around with the free version to evaluate it as a replacement to big brother.
It took me a little while to get all the connections straight in my head but would probably be more intuitive to someone with more experience in the area.
I was getting the 32002 error (after it passed the connection test). I tried later and finally got through to download the updates. They were still really slow though. I've had a couple of timeout problems since getting into the shopping channel but for the most part, it seemed to be better towards the end of last night. The funny thing about the error code was when I first got it and tried to look it up on their web site, I couldn't even get that to load.:)
I'll have to check into that tonight. I have a glass-top table between the couch/tv and the cursor is very jittery in the wii menu but oddly seems to be fine once I start a game so it's only a minor annoyance.
Thanks for the info.

The parent post isn't funny. That happens to me all the time with my Memorex Travel drive. I pull my keys out of my pocket and see the cap hanging there all by itself. Luckily, I've only 'lost' it in my pocket or in my car. I'd much rather have it attach to the base and hook that to my keychain with a more reliable quick release.
But three important differences allow them to hold quite a bit more information than DVDs:
* They use 405 nanometer blue-violet lasers rather than 650 nanometer red lasers.
* The pits are smaller and the tracks are closer together.
* They use more efficient compression to cut down the size of the files they store.
Nice anology, although it doesn't really apply here. When your interface is so broken that you go to the File menu to change the page margins, how are you supposed to fix that without the need to relearn anything? Just because you learned how to do something with a poor interface, doesn't mean it should stay that way.
I haven't tried Word 2007 so I can't say much about it but that particular issue seems to be fixed based on this screenshot. Would you prefer to have a File tab with the page settings underneath that so you don't have to relearn anything?
One could argue that a state with less collected in income tax needs more federal spending to bring their standard of living closer to the average. You can call these people leeches on society but I wouldn't call them greedy.
Not that I'm defending the GP's comments about NY being greedy. I doubt they have any more to back that up than some personal grudge against NY.
I didn't get into details but it makes the app flash in the taskbar either a specified number of times or until you click on it.
Of course, I'm still having problems getting it to work. I turn on the 'prevent focus stealing' option and then a couple days later I notice it bother me again. So I go back in to tweakui and it's turned off again. I'm not sure why yet.
"Then there's the Single User aspect, all over again. No matter how they pass XP off as a multi-user environment, it carriest considerable baggage of being single user - case in point: the pop-up key-stealer, when apps suddenly thrust themselves forward and steal a keystroke for the [ignore] [retry] [cancel] [OK] whatever prompt and vanish if it meets the input expectation."
There's a tweakui setting to disable programs from stealing focus. I'm not sure it works all the time but I would assume it at least works more than not having it checked. Why this isn't the default behavior, I can't say.
The setting is General -> Focus -> Prevent applications from stealing focus
I agree with the parent. It seems like there is some bigger issue if you have 2 (I'm assuming from the gp post) production critical issues at the same time.
I'd also add that technology gives you another benefit here. You know HRPROD22-NA01 is down? Then send an email out to some list that includes all the people this has an effect on. They'll all know immediately that there's a problem and you're working on it without each person wasting their time and your time telling you about it.
I've only played the WMB download demo of Electroplankton (Beatnes) so I don't know if the full game is also like this - but in that demo any music you input only gets looped like 3-4 times, then it stops. So to create a continuous, full tune you pretty much have to keep inputting more notes."
I also played the demo before buying it and I wasn't that impressed. The full version definitely has more to offer and includes some of my favorite modes that weren't in the demo.
I'll admit, I was hoping for more features like the ability to save and some basic editing but it was still worth it for me.
I can elaborate on some of the other modes if you're interested.
Along those lines, it would be nice if it would allow you to log in and use WEP at places that aren't completely open.
An example being Panera, where you have to view and accept some terms of service page in your web browser before it'll let you do anything.
MythstreamTV allows you to stream recorded shows to Windows PCs.
It's not quite as good as watching it directly on your MythTV box but it's decent.

I had some difficulties getting my PVR-150 to work with the IVTV drivers. Once I got the right IVTV drivers, MythTV itself wasn't too bad. Anyway, I was just curious if there had been more improvements in the IVTV drivers since I installed it (around last summer I think).
I dunno about straight from the sealed package. I thought they had 2 control brushes that were kept in another room. Either way, they were never in the bathroom but were also contaminated. Even their expert who conducted the tests didn't think it was anything to really be concerned about though. Having a few specs of bacteria on your toothbrush isn't quite the same as munching on a turd sandwhich.
I agree to some extent but I think there are some basics that people should know. One of those being the difference between memory and a hard drive and the understanding that when I fill up my computer with crap, buying more memory isn't going to let me install more crap.
If I'm driving my car around and run out of gas, I don't think the gas pedal is broke or worse yet, something completely unrelated like the steering wheel.

ok then...
Well, if they're that poor they're probably criminals anyhow, and so shouldn't get to move around freely.
It's times like this that I need my mod points :)
shoot. and here I thought Adobe was going to give out little cheap plastic toys with Photoshop to encourage all the pirates to buy a legitimate copy.
On a side note, I used to use Painter a lot several years ago and was surprised to see it's still around.
You might want to check out Groundwork OpenSource.
