    Well, according to the complaint filed by ACHTE/NEUNTE they allege that "...each Defendant, without the permission or consent of the Plaintiff, has used, and continues to use, an online media distribution system to distribute to the public, including by making available for distribution to others, the Copyrighted Motion Picture."

    They are not simply complaining that people are downloading their material, but actively distributing it too.

    Copyright law is constantly described as being "broken" around here, and posters are often on the side of music pirates and other pro-piracy entities, like Pirate Bay and the Pirate Party.

    Well for one, the magazine is blatantly ripping off content for both fun and profit ....

    Forgot to mention about those shotguns.
    After US vs Olofson Precedent was set that even if a firearm that was manufactured as a semiautomatic and malfunctioned so that more than one round was fired with a single pull of the trigger deemed the firearm to be an automatic machine gun. This also follows suit such that a shotgun that fires both chambered shells through the means of one trigger pull is thus an illegal machine gun. Yes, the ATF is on record saying that.

    The Arizona circuit court found that a copy in RAM was indeed a copy as applied under the DMCA. The RAM copy did not infringe on it's own, but became infringing when MDY's product skirted Blizzards warden technology(anti-circumvention device) which refuses content access to those who do not pass the algorithms hash checks.

    While it is technically true that they did "sell a phone", allowing the user to mod their phone extends the overall life cycle of the hardware and locks moto out of a secondary sale when they arbitrary choose to not support the device anymore.

    Lets be generous and give a 720/1080 dvd rip the size of 10 gigs. With format and overhead he's going to be lucky with stuffing 90 or so rips before the drive is stuffed to the gills.

    Given that in the summary the author states

    I have run out of slots to put in hard drives across two computers.

    I would assume that he is looking for a solution that is about 20x more than what you are recommending.
