  1. If you go to the original story (https://www.arneswinnen.net/2016/07/how-i-could-steal-money-from-instagram-google-and-microsoft/) it shows exactly how he did it for real. He just stopped when he gained a little bit of money (1 Euro, 1 Pound and 1.20 Euro) and reported it.

    A World Beer Cup where only a fraction of breweries outside of the USA participate in?
    Look at the list of participants, for instance for Belgium only 27 breweries (some of which are owned by the same company) are listed, that's like one sixth of the Belgian breweries only.

    In EU privacy law (on which the UK Data Protection Act is based) selling personal information is in principle not allowed. Even giving it away for free is only allowed in a few cases.

    15%?! Now I know you're joking because even the risky dealers (porn sites) only pay 7.5% max.

    You clearly don't work in the porn industry. A lot of pornsites would be very happy if they only had to pay 7.5%, if they could even get a merchant account and not have to go to a third party processor and pay 25%. Not to mention the ridiculous fees VISA charges you just to get a merchant account if you're a porn company.

    Indeed, eBay are crap. I've had many problems with getting eBay to remove counterfeit DVD's. The seller even mentioned they were copies on DVD-r and they still did nothing until legally threatened and the seller wasn't even deactivated. The guy was selling hundreds of DVD-r's, he did not have one legitimate item in his entire selling history.

    As a happy customer of them for ten years I can say that the parent is completely right.
    They even sued the state about the costs for the tapping of customers and are working with the EDRI against the EU data retention plans.
    There is also the long running Scientology courtcase against them.
    Like someone there said: "We would not even give the time of the day to a law enforcement agency without a court order."

    That still wouldn't work, because if I want to make a $10.000 transaction I will get an extra challenge, based on the accountnumber the money is going to. So if the spyware shows me my original accountnumber, it will give the bank the wrong answer and if it shows the new accountnumber, I will see that it is not the same one I intended to send money too. And the challenge uses 7 of the numbers in the bankaccountnumber, but not always the same 7, and both are shown on your screen.

    Over here these rings are usually just one ring. When you are engaged you put it on your left hand (or right, depending on your religion IIRC) and when you marry you move it to the other hand.

    I am living in NL and everybody here I know who is married/engaged have plain gold weddingrings.usually woth an inscription on the inside.Haven't seen a diamond wedding ring IRL ever.

    Currently my house has some 40 meter (130 feet for the Americans) of bookshelves, most of them totally filled with books and I did read them. 500 books is just 2 or 3 years reading for me, luckily I have friends with similar amounts of books where I can borrow some books when I run out. Since me and my friends are the people who buy several books per week on average we are the intended market for such toys. But guess what? We like books, we like the smell of books, we like the feel of books, we like looking at our shelves and we are never going to buy any ebookthingy.

    Real booklovers want real books!

    As my boss says: "We compensate our staff fairly for the fact that not everybody thinks this is a decent job." My family and friends know what I do, but not so for some of my colleagues. And I won't tell you our sites, because I am not here to advertise :-)

    Being an adult webmaster myself I can assure you that our customers complain if something is wrong. But all the free porn makes up for a lot :-)
    And it pays well too, so it should be a career option for all techies out there, seeing the current techjobmarket.

    Actually I know from people at Pfizer Europe that they don't like it al. Spammers are even copying their website to sell (probably fake) drugs under their name.

    a minister who reads his email. If more politicians read their own email (and not a hapless assistant) the problem of spam would be evident to them and antispam legislation would be nearer.
    And yes, I know legislation is not the sole solution, but legislation plus technical solutions is the best bet in my opinion.

    In the Netherlands we get the free program for your taxes from the Taxoffice since at least 1995, the first year I did my taxes electronically. You can choose to print it out, send the disk back or sent a signed file back. Too bad the recent versions are Winonly.
