So instead you choose to steal the software? Let me make sure I understand you correctly -- you try do dissuade your clients from `purchasing' software from them, but I seem to be getting the vibes that you're using it anyway...
If you disable IE's autoloading (by changing the shell) -- you'll notice because it displays a logo box "Microsoft Internet Explorer 6" or whatnot. It takes a little bit longer, but still less than half the time that Mozilla takes to load. I've tried this on a Win98 machine with the new shell stripped (using 98Lite).
Although you will have to cut/paste as Slashcode strips intl character from the URL (they killed all unicode and non- [A-za-z0-9] characers after all that crapflodding).
I believe what you're looking for is called Linux + WINE.
Why don't these guys just add Windows NT compatibility to WINE? (I'm not a Linux guru, but it's my understanding that WINE emulates the 9x API, correct?)

Does this mean that Slashdotters are procreating?
Generally that involves the insertion of what is known to the lay man as a "penis" into what I believe is called a "vagina." Since this goal is not within the reach of the Slashdot population, there must be another way. I'm waiting for something to be posted to science.slashdot.org about this...
Many things that come out of Apple are very polished pieces of software and kick ass in general. Mass appeal and polish are some things that Linux software lacks in 100% of cases. I say, for OSS folks, who do most of this stuff in their spare time, should take all they can get and reap of the benefits regardless.
This is perfectly legal. As long as you purchase 19 other license certificates from Microsoft. It's part of their "Volume Licensing" program. Even so, the CD Key just unlocks the CD. As long as you have unique certificates of authenticity for each box, you're OK.
Not so fast. Aeronautical engineers still use Fortran.:P It's still very good for mathematical calculations, and most compilers optimize automatically.
I still own one of those! Windows has drivers for it too, so I still use it to play games (athough, it's kind of a werid shape -- I'll have to say that the SNES controller fits a player's hand 10x better than the Gravis pad).

In the GNU/HURD House: Well... take a look for yourself
Apple: The house would be see-through.
Sun: The house would look like absolute shit asthetically, but it'd be stable, and never be able to be knocked down.
Novell: I don't know, but there'll be a lot of guys in black ties and white shirts ringing the doorbell.
Wouldn't the bathroom of tomorrow have the three shells?
You might try asking this guy.

Bah, this has already been done by some British guy... :D
Don't give them any new ideas.

tests indicate the Mac may be faster than PCs in RAW image conversion afterall.
/. now? An article completely devoid of a definitive answer... unbelieveable.
MAY be faster? Do we have politicians submitting articles to
Why isn't it running Linux yet?
I'll second this. I don't even think you can resize the form, nor use the mouse wheel!

Tell that to this guy.
the best method for preserving CD-ROM images for the long term.
Personally, I'd take a digital picture rather than use film. Then copy the pictures to various media (CD, Hard disk, etc) for backup.

Did someone accidentally do a "DROP TABLE FRIENDSANDFOES; COMMIT;"
I guess you have to sue Slashdot too, cause of the preferences page too, right?

Why do you think they keep updating the standard?
Man, I felt soo tired - couldn't get out of bed all day. Never been sicker in my life. Damn that filthy drunk slut, I told her not to kiss me.
Too bad you weren't at Kent State on May 4, 1970...
Hmm. The website is http://antfarm.ma.cx/ -- the last time I visited a site that ended in .cx, I was in trouble.
