But Adobe MAKES consumer level products. Are you saying that Photoshop Elements or Photo Delus are not of the same quality as other Adobe products? These products are within the price range needed and do just about everything an average user would want to use Photoshop for.
But I degress. Go to sleep all ready.
Your comparing two very different things. People don't need Photoshop to edit images, hell most people couldn't make use of most of the features even if the package was free. Photoshop and applications in its price range (and higher) are priced based on the work that went into them and the value of what comes out. If someone can use Photoshop to make an image for an advertising champain that they get payed thousands of dollars for then the 600$ price tag of Photoshop is well worth it. Having people bitch that they cant afford Photoshop to edit pictures of their grand kids is just dumb. There are lower end packages that cost less then 50$ which will serve their purposes just fine.
Bottom line, if you think the software costs too much then you don't really need it. Go use something else, be it Gimp or Adobe Image Effects. Dont bitch and moan about the cost of Photoshop and don't condone the piracy of the software.
However, the Soyo (and your ASUS) board use the Via southbridge POS. After upgrading my system to a SiS based performing I realized how poor my Soyo and Abit systems where performing. the DMA and PCI implementation on the VIA chipsets is just bad.
See The Register for one example of problems with Via Chipsets. http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/3/23502.html
These prices seem rather low, and I love the part where they say "Throw a CD-Rom, Modem and/or NIC into this box" but don't include the cost of doing so in the bottom line.
Wait a second, that sounds allmost pro-microsoft.
You must be one of THEM.......
Good thing I've got my AFB on or you might be able to steal my thoughts.
So lets see if I can follow this. They made a Linux distro and designed it to look as much like Windows as they could. Then they claim that they did it in such a way as to not cause consumer confusion. Say what? As far as I can tell they set out to cause confusion. How can they claim with a stright face that they didn't expect Microsoft to object?
So it looks like Windows and runs Windows programs, but it cant (acording to the Lindows people) be confused with Windows.
While this is great and all it wont really reduce the amount of spam I get. Laws like this are not really enforceable given that most spam is anonymous and un-traceable unless you want to spend a lot of time sorting through mail logs.
What's being done to STOP spam? I for one am tired of sorting through my mail looking for valid messages (spam to real mail ration of about 100 to 1). What's more as the years go on (same mail box for five years) my spam gets stranger and stranger I get more messages in Japanese, Korean, German, Russian and Taiwanese then I do in English.
I use an AIT system at home. You can get an AIT-1 drive for a low enough cost if you hunt around. I got my fist one for 300$ and my second for 65$ (but that was a rare deal). Tapes cost a bit, 45$ for a 35/70gig tape, but thats not too bad given the performance of the system.
Let us not forget the act of seeing a development kit as just another source of revenue. This, at the time when MS was giving away dev kits, all but guaranteed there would be little native OS/2 software.
Loop L has been occupied for 34 min Still going at it. What ever "it" is.
Doh, ment to reply to Wonderkid, not myself. Arguments with myself never end well for anyone involved,

Why? The software is worth 600$ or more to a lot of people.

Now where will I get a replacment copy of KC and the SunShine Band..... Oh wait, 9 track? Never mind then.
Its obvious that this Tolkin hack just read the D&D 2nd addition rules and made up a story set in that universe.
