What's more interesting is how little interest we have in our politics. At least, little interest in finding out for ourselves what's going on rather then blindly following our parties marching orders.
But what does that have to do with digital distribution? If the same thing happened with a game you installed from a DVD and then applied a patch for, what's the difference?
Explain how you not agreeing to the terms of use for a service disables said service is evil. If you dont plan on using the features of the marketplace, why do you care if its disabled? What exactly is it stopping you from doing? Your phones OS updates dont come from there, only apps and add updates. And since its Android, you can just install apps from the APK files and totally ignore the app store.
So how is it that your "paid-for phone is now becoming less and less useful"?
...its slower speeds. This should in no way chase away legitimate users leaving only the pirates who dont care if their copy of photoshop takes half a day to download while they're at work.
Turn on the TV and witness all the ads for snake oil and sugar pills with the disclaimer "these claims have not been reviewed by the FDA". Basically, you can sell anything now. The FDA has little enforcement power anymore.
Cigarettes are healthy! They freshen your breath and provide your body with much needed menthol! Dont fall for the leftist, socialist propaganda telling you different!
Lots of games for example require setup time between levels to avoid chewing up excess drive and memory space. Likewise with productivity apps that need to load add-ons, lib's and the like. Angry Birds on the other hand just downloads new adds, so the splash screen could go away without effecting performance.
If you think something will take an hour, say it will take three. Then when it takes you two you're a genius for getting it done early. Oh... and shout "I've given 'er all she's got cap'in" every now and then.
Actually, I must interject that the old interface had only a single window for me because I didn't want to use the media library. Now I have no choice. Cant turn it off, cant remove or change the internet sites they opt to list. So to me the new interface is a major downgrade. I just want a media player, not a media management system.
More or less. I do consulting work (Salesforce mostly these days) and work from home. I even have other's who go to meetings and interact with clients. So I just have to sit here and code. Its a nice niche. Some days I dont even put on pants.
If you have experience on a given subject, coding or otherwise, there is a market for books and teaching. I happen to like coding and plan on keeping at it till my mortgage is paid off. Then I'll retire.
Too late for money to matter I fear, SCOX was delisted so you cant get a majority share and tell them to sit down and shut up. What we're left with is some sort of zombie corporation that's still attacking even efter we shotgunned its head.
Clearly you've never heard Bjork sing.
No, we care who wins reality TV shows. More people vote for American Idol then for their representatives.

Shareholders will vote for what the company tells them will make the most money. This decision should not be left up to them or the telcos.
It's unfortunate, but the only ethical source of most electronics these days is other peoples trash.
Buying used wold apply under the same logic. Which is what I do for totally unrelated reasons.
So its normal for over a hundred workers to threaten mass suicide in protest over the working conditions?
No one reads it any how, so just assume its all spam. Presto, 100% effective spam filtering.
