Have you not heard? We fixed all the schools already. Children are no longer hungry and the economy is going great. Now we can dedicate all our resources to getting monkeys to use Twitter.
OEMs can and do sell directly to the consumer. However, most consumers are unwilling to pay the price of a phone without a carrier brand/lock. 849$ for an unlocked iPhone 4S with maximum storage direct from Apples store. Same kind of "deals" can be had for many Android phones, but most makers dont have an online store. Bottom line, without the carrier subsidy most people just dont want the things.
Vulgar insults that make you look like a child aside. My first generation Motorola Drioid has also gotten updated frequently, its all in what you buy. Oh, and hows Siri running on your 3GS? Don't pretend that Apple doesn't try to get people to upgrade perfectly usable phones.
When a new string of lights costs two dollars, its kind of hard to justify buying replacement bulbs or repair tools. But then I use LED christmas lights and have yet to have one of them go bad.
They would not be the first Android phone to not use Googles services, hell Motorola replaced the Google services with Yahoo on some of their phones. That does not mean that it is a code fork. So what specifically is different about the OS, other then the non-Google bundled apps?
So then get an incandescent. The law does not forbid them. It just requires that they be efficient.

At a guess, it means 1.925 billion dollars of hidden fees spread out across all the AT&T users.
Peanut butter is a "gel". Gels are only allowed in limited amounts (think those mini-bottles of shampoo).
A picture would require not being lazy. So it will just have to be a non-collapsed wave form, Schrödinger's xmas lights if you will.
I just soldered a bunch of three color blinking LEDs to some watch batteries and threw them at my tree. Actually turned out rather nice.
