Actually, it was so that we where forced to buy the Pascal programming book the professor wrote. Seemed to serve no other purpose. So I dropped out, started learning on my own and am now gainfully employed as a coder. Wouldn't mide having the degree, but the CS courses (at least at the time) where junk.
Long long ago, in a land far far away, I started down the CS degree path but stopped after the first required programming class. Guess how often I've used Pascal since then? If the students know the class is meaningless, why not cheat?
There are two games. One I know nothing about other then the developer telling me its worth 60$ and one I can actually try a bit of before shelling out the cash. Guess which one I'm going to be buying?
So the thousands of fart sound effect generators are from 'good' developers and Adobe and others are 'crap' because they dont want to follow Apples draconian guidelines.
On the plus side, with multi-tasking you'll be able to get several ads at once! Just image the fun times you'll have searching through your running apps trying to find the one that has the "congratulations! you're a winner!" sound file on constant loop.
Parents have total power of attorney till the kid is eighteen or emancipated last I checked. He wants to sue, I would think he would have to first file to be an emancipated minor. At which point the parents are no longer responsable for his health or wellbeing.
Course I could be totally wrong. Its happened once before.

My laptop needs a fully functional web browser, removable media and ample storage. Oh, and a useful method of data input. The iPad has none of those things. I have no issue with people liking the thing, but I honestly cant think of anything I would use it for. My 15 year old Linux 486 tablet has more viable uses to me.

Last I checked my MacPro was about the most expandable & open comercial computing platform I could find. While I'll grant that OSX is not as "open" as Linux or BSD, it is based on the later and I can download and tinker with the kernel and other parts if I so choose.
Look at it this way, OSX is one of the last comercial UNIX platforms now that Sun and SGI are gone.

Now that NASA wont be buying overpriced outdated computer hardware to repair the shuttle with, how's that gona effect the price of a hardened 386 on eBay?
I use "Flex Builder" to compile "Flash" all the time. Its the same compiler. Only difference is the libs its packaged with. If you dont use the Adobe Flash (tm) libs that are unique to Flash (tm) you can write flash apps all you want with Flex.
So we respond in kind. Threaten violence if they censor stuff. I'm sure they'll respond in a reasonable manor.
"because it's pretty easy to map ActionScript to the Objective-C object model"
Too bad that would now violate Apples updated license agreement. Which is what Adobe (and others) are kinda miffed about.

No, its more like the old man invites you onto his lawn and then has you arrested for trespassing.
cause that would have confused the hell out of the attackers.
Its quiet, not silent. Last silent system I built is carved out of a solid chunk of aluminium. No fans, no moving parts at all.

Good to know Apple has their priorities right.
Yup, thats the danger of working from home. Have to double check that I have pants on before I go out to lunch.
Bah, missed that part. Stupid job, distracting me from what's important.

Soon? My first Linux tablet was in the mid 80s.

But on the plus side, I get to work from home where naps are a daily event and pants are optional.
At a guess, the difference is consent of the families involved.
