I've reaffirmed my commitment to stop using JAVA when ever I can. Its just no longer worth the trouble it causes. Just about anything I want to do can be done via AJAX & DHTML.
I feel that there's not enough being done to curb gun violence here in Oakland Ca. So I'm going to shoot one person a day, every day, for the month of July. Any reports that I'm enjoying it are exaggerations.
I'm reminded yet again of the movie Under Seige. A rather good film about terorists attacking new york and the governments over reaction to it.
Anthony 'Hub' Hubbard: Come on General, you've lost men, I've lost men,
but you - you, you *can't* do this! What, what if they don't even want
the sheik, have you considered that? What if what they really want is
for us to herd our children into stadiums like we're doing? And put
soldiers on the street and have Americans looking over their shoulders?
Bend the law, shred the Constitution just a little bit? Because if we
torture him, General, we do that and everything we have fought, and
bled, and died for is over. And they've won. They've already won!
I wonder how many of these students will be willing to work for free once they graduate like they expect others to. Or is it only their time thats worth money, not everyone elses?
I seem to recall a time when ethics classes where manditory in schools. Perhaps we should revisit that?
Am I the only one that dosn't want to be wandering around town looking for a means to refull my notebook? The only use I can think of for these things is a flash charger for my existing battery.

Just stick a computer in the corner churning out encryption keys and mailing them to the UK government all day every day untill you break their database.
So they release a tape toquell the conspiracy theorists, but the footage dosn't realy show anything and has the time/date stamp of the day after the attack?
Monroe: It's a special isolation chamber. The subject pulls levers to receive
food and water. The floor can become electrified, and showers of
icy water randomly fall on the subject. I call it... The Monroe Box! Grampa: Uh huh. Sounds interesting. How much will it cost to build? Monroe: Oh, that's the beauty part! It's already built! I need the money
to buy a baby to raise in the box until the age of thirty. Grampa: What are you trying to prove? Monroe: Well, my theory is that the subject will be socially maladjusted and
will harbor a deep resentment towards me. Grampa: Mm. Interesting.
I used VRML with a bank of SGI reality engines and a full stereoscopic head mounted display and data gloves. Was as 3D as your going to get. In fact, most 3D games can support a stereoscopic viewing mode, the days of so called 2.5D rendering (think doom) are long gone.
