    There is no way to make everyone happy, so you provide the best protection you can and try to make the least number of people pissed. To me, a better question would be "why did you let your antivirus expire?".

    The Core series chips has the same problem I have with just about every CPU from AMD or Intel. No good motherboards. It seems you cant get a motherboard with basic features such as 133mhz PCI-X and without such crap as onboard audio and RAID without going to the Xeon or Opteron lines.

    So we're spending money to tell people how much more money we're spending then what we're making? Reminds me of the cost (cant recall the figure, but it was a large dollar amount) of sending the letter telling people their 300% tax rebate was on its way.

    Broderbund software used to have a support BBS that a bunch of us in the San Francisco Bay Area took over for our personal chat room. Used to spend hours there, we even used to get together in real life.

    It got to the point where Broderbund came to us to find beta testers for their software products. I dont think I ever once saw anyone use that system for its intended purpose.

    My Linksys is a router with a Cisco logo on the front, is that not a Cisco router?

    In most cases, if you have USB power you have an outlet. In rare cases where your out in the middle of no where with nothing but a notebook and a GPS unit running on AA batteries, and you need to keep the GPS charged so you can make it out there before dark, I guess these would be of use. Cant realy think of any other time.

    Give a man a fish and he can eat for one day, teach a man to phish and he can anoy millions of people for the rest of his (hopfully short) life.

    (Sigh) Its all rather depressing realy. After having the same domain and email address for ten years my spam to real mail ratio is about 500:1 and I can find my email address on decade old usenet posts via Google.

    Um, sure they do. You see, unlike yourself some people have somthing to sell. Bands such as "ok GO" (just to name one) will pay to place their video on the front page because it sells CDs and tickets. Same with video game makers, etc.

    paper is much harder. With a paper ballot you need to alter every bit of paper for each vote you want to skew. With an digital system, you just make up the numbers at a ceneteral location.
