I would honestly like to know how the hell this made it on Slashdot. Moreover how anyone could be so daft as to call this optical illusion inexplicable. It's quite simple, in fact its retardedly elementry.
Its called comparative persepective. Simply put, when the moon is close to terrestrial objects (the ground) it looks larger because you are comparing its size to things on the ground (hills, buildings, etc.).
Simple huh? Don't believe me?
Do this, go outside, if the moon looks large...
put your hand up and block out everything bellow the moon with it. TADA! Like magic the moon appears normal.
Now, everyone go kick yourself in the ass for thinking this should have been on slashdot, and if you already knew what I have stated here, then give yourself a pat on the back for not being a brain dead simp and join me in sighing at the poster of this obsurd peice of news.
And to anyone I offended, TOO BAD! ^_^
Everyone knows that crono trigger has the best endings, being one the first RPGs to experiment with multiple endings depending on how you played and finished the game.
There will always be a need for the fancy printed game guides, so long as there are RPGs. Sure you could download a ASCII FAQ and Walkthrough, but the quantity and quality of the information will never compare.
I agree, XP is definitely a MAJOR step forward for windows in terms of both stability and interface, and yes the drivers are the biggest issue for crashes as far as my experience with it has gone. But your damn right when it comes to comparing it to OS X, smartest thing Apple ever did was switch to the BSD based core.
I wasn't referring to application crashes. I was referring to the often cases which windows does not prevent an application from taking the whole system down. Though to be fare you make a good point, a lot of the systems stability depends on the actions of the user, say for example yourself who is more then likely careful not to do anything stupid that would likely crash his win box. However, the majority of people are stupid, and that just the problem. Windows is far from idiot proof, hell its not even idiot retardant. But, to each his own, maybe some windows users are just masochists.
Guess you should have bought a mac, mines been up for almost 3 months now.
But in all serious, I'm sure the number of people who are having crashes is even larger then what MS is reporting as I'm sure alot of people opt not to send the crash report for whatever reason(paranoia or otherwise).
Ive had alot of LCDs usually on laptops, and non of which getting as much use as this screen. However, it hasn't shown any signs of th backlight wearing down. Could help that I turn the brightness down at night, or that I keep the temperature low, but I don't intend on seeing the moniter die anytime soon.
I have had my Apple 15inch LCD which I bought with my G4 for the last 2 years, and it has only been turned off TWICE since I bought It, and both times were only while I moved it. In all that time at maximum brightness, without a screensaver running, I have never once had any issue of screen burn.
I guess I have to give props to Sega on this one. As noted, it is long after the prime of the games and the system, and it is very impressive that they endured the expense of maintaining the servers this long, and that they continue to support the servers for PSO, despite the recent releases for todays systems. Kudos Sega.
Movie theaters are one thing, as quiet is expected; however, in a restaurant I have not problem with someone using a cell phone with a normal speaking voice, though if they are shouting, I reserve the right to take the phone and beat them senseless with it.
The simplest way to limit the amoutn of bandwidth she is using would be to throttle it using ipfw, the BSD firewall, you can use it either drop random packets by percentage in order to limit the bw she consumes as well as several other methods.
IT would seem that the FCC.org is currently unreachable. There are only three possible explanations for this:
1. They got tired of listening to us/.ers bitch and disabled the DNS binding.
2. They pissed off one too many/.ers and are suffering the wrath of a DDOS.
3. The FCC upset the army of undead minions fueled by all that is dark and unholy, known only as...the script-kiddies...
I have web based admin too, for file editing on my sites, as well as VERY limited shell access via SSL and.htaccess protection....and as for an editor....DEATH TO EMACS!!! VIM OWNZ J00...how was that...okay?
I have a Hiptop with a full web browser, and i wrote some php protected my SSL, and.htaccess, however as you should guess i can only excute commands allowed by the user running apache, which is clearly www and im not about to make every script-kiddie's day from here to kalamazoo and run apache as anyone else. So thats why I need more then a web interface.
For those of you that think Im insane for wanting to use such an unsecure form of shell access.
I have a Danger Hiptop, which has a built in AIM client, and no shell client...yet. So, the idea here is to allow me to get shell access when i cant get to a full box with a SSH client on it. And as far as security goes, i would clearly only allow it to execute commands that come from my screenname......SO DONT GO GETTING ANY IDEAS! Furthermore, I appreciate those of you who gave infomative answers, rather then uninformed cynical rantings.
GIVE THAT MAN A COOKIE!, bingo my boy, I have a Danger Hiptop that has a built in AIM client, and thus is my reasoning for wanting to know. And seeing as the dev kit isnt comming out any time soon, I thought this would make for a creative workaround to get control.
According to Esther Dyson,
"The net is rule-governed space as well as dynamic technology and business medium. But who wrote the rules? An ICANN pioneer tells the story of how the net community harnessed political imagination to create its own forms of governance, and asks: can a global civil society now emerge, with political parties to help make that governance accountable?"
Damn elves, why must they manipulate us so!?

Unreal Ultimate Frisbee. Come to think of it, I may just make that mod.

...what do you mean by "over the top"?
1. They got tired of listening to us
2. They pissed off one too many
3. The FCC upset the army of undead minions fueled by all that is dark and unholy, known only as...the script-kiddies...
Good one, That would be a good idea for another bot..I think I may do that...would be funny to see how pissed people get at it.

At least someone has some logic.

..It would seem the "L" is not the only thing that is green.
If you have the a dev release of 10.2 there is a ODBC control app in the utilities folder, likey implemented with this in mind.
However as of now it seems to lack any drivers.
