The real rub is whether something is "right" or "wrong" only depends on your GPS coordinates at the time you did it. So I guess morality is dependant on X,Y,Z coords in space/time.
So paying $50 for a copy of Battlefield 1942 only to find out it on work on ANY of my 5 PC's and they won't let me return it because I opened it IS RIGHT?!?!?!?
What's morally correct about releasing a patch for the game before the game itself knowing full well half the people that buy the game have no chance whatsoever of getting it to work?
I'm crying rivers here, by the way, you want to buy a barely used copy of Buttfuck 1942?
It doesn't record shows to hard drive. It just lets you pause and rewind. And they must be using some WMF format because the quality is worse than the worst setting on Tivo.
It does not store video though.
I have a firewire interface for IDE drives. Someone chime in on pro/con of 1394 vs. SCSI.
I can tell you one thing for sure, with 120GB IDE drives costing a little over a buck a gig, you'd have to be insane to go SCSI for bulk personal storage. I can put a quarter terabyte of MP3's on my machine for under $300. Hell-yeah!
That's too bad. I liked Radlight. It was like Vueprint for videos. It opens in a tenth of the time WMP does and plays just about anything.
Too bad, Radlight. CYA!
WTF?
>>Blizzard has an effective video setup that allows you to customize the game to match your hardware by changing the resolution, model detail, animation quality, texture quality, particles, and lights. This is especially helpful if you're running on an older machine and still want your game to run fast. The sound setup even allows you to have Dolby Surround!
Yeah, every game has that, buddy, it's called Options. WHAT ABOUT THE GAME? Building? Weapons? Strategy? How long is a typical game? WHat's the best part? What's the worst part? What surprised you?
Don't quit your day job, and Slashdot: quit giving him the games, send them to me.
That's a bunch of bull. I edit video on my PC constantly with no problem at all. Just because you don't have the mental capacity for more than one mouse button, don't write off the whole PC community.
Besides, your ass is going to be editing video on a smaller-than-laptop-sized screen running 1024x768??? You poor pathetic thing.
I don't buy computers for how cool they look, I have a lot of work to do. Give me a PC with a 21" tube monitor anyday.
Sure, the iMac is going to be the hottest thing going. I heard the same thing last time about that stupid cube. Now they are being used as expensive doorstops at Apple.
I quit using 15" 1024x768 screens about 4 years ago. Then again, I had an optical mouse about 3 years ago, and I had USB way before Apple.
Is it really innovation when you take old technology and make it very pretty?
Maybe the mac heads out there should quit smoking the hog legs, starring at their hardware, and actually get to work.
I got enough problems building for IE/NS/Opera/Lynx and all the other crap out there. Now I have to build for 50,000 sundry disabilities? Forget it.
But the games are boring and playing games against strangers and having to hear them talk is not only weird it's annoying. People are stupid.
Only thing this would be good for is FPS games, and those totally suck without a mouse to aim with so I wouldn't say it's worth $50.
What the hell does this have to do with Nerds and technology other than sounding like a porn movie?
Kai is the interface God. I don't care what all you command line goons think.

>>How do I back this up? With another hard drive, they're cheap.
Quantum Physics and the Language of Nature by Heinz Pagels is a great book for beginners.

Great.
Designers, illustrators, beat box goons. Lets see a poll on that because I haven't seen a straight Apple user in a decade.

Nice, I'll be able to tell what you are whispering to your friend from a spy satellite. No more secrets.

I suppose if I was buying my computer to put flowers in and place on my mantle, I would buy a new iMac.
