    My health care, while not cheap, is only a few percent of my salary. I'm sure that in other countries that have public health care, the government mandated vacation and other benefits add up as well.

    I don't understand why it's fine on the iPhone yet on a games console it is deemed to be a bit more 'dodgy'. Especially when jailbreaking an iPhone also allows pirate software to be installed.

    Because there's tons of free and useful software for the iPhone. While there may be some for the PS3, it's definitely not a multi-purpose device.

    Commuter pilots in the US have been known to start as low as 19,000/year (less than a manager at Taco Bell, accordign to M. Moore).

    Employees are estimated to cost around double what they are paid in various taxes and overhead.

    I do not think it is ridiculous to suggest the advance of modern technology has made co-pilots possibly unnecessarily redundant.

    I would gladly take the additional risk and save a few bucks.

    Flying is much safer than driving even if our monkey brains can't handle the concept of rare medium scale catastrophes vs common small scale ones.

    I don't know about your country, but the US fixed that in the 70s. It may be less than desired, but the safety over the above time frame is assured.

    I think this is something that merits constant vigilance, but yes, I'm not mentioning it hourly.

    In the context of the discussion I was trying to be brief, but I am concerned about the long term (20 to 50 years) safety of our water and food supply. Air quality as well.

    The truth is that I am amazed the PS3 is still getting any game development anyway. It has long since been overshadowed by the XBox360 and Wii in terms of userbase.

    Your information is out of date. The PS3 is right behind the 360. The higher sales of the PS3 have allowed it to catch up to the 360, despite the yearlong headstart. Attach rates are also similar.

    The Wii of course, is in a different class.

    He said he hadn't turned it on in two years. That's quite different from 1 hour a month.

    Doing pretty well at 38+ million installed.

    Sales of the console itself haven't been good and game sales have been weaker still

    Looks like your info is somewhat out of date. The PS3 is right on the heels of the 360 which had a year headstart and will probably overtake it this year or next. Sure, neither is a Wii, but then again I think that's something a lot of us are glad of.

    Yeah, I haven't turned mine on since I played and beat uncharted 2 in 1 week right after it came out...i think that was sometime back in 2009, and before that i didnt turn it on since i first bought it..2007?

    So let me get this straight, you have 10 games for a system you barely played? I play mine all the time and I have 14 games, and no I don't trade them in.
