I didn't really notice that the second guy shot was CGI while watching Black Panther. What I did notice was that everything was SUPER NOTICEABLY CGI when the climactic fight scene on the mag lev track starts.
To me, that was the worst CGI I've seen in the MCU.
When the kid with the iPad said "What's a computer?" I thought they were showing that they were designed for the retarded.
If the kid really didn't know that what they're using is a form of computer, it implies they're either somehow lacking in super basic information about technology (i.e. stupid) or have a serious mental disability.
I think you underestimate the number - there were way more than seven of us Linux gamers just developing for the DK1 years back. There are over a 100 vive owners asking Valve to support Linux here: https://github.com/ValveSoftwa..., and that's just the subset of us that have github accounts and thought it would be a good idea to me-too the issue.
At any rate, it's the chicken and the egg - there can't be a huge number of Linux VR gamers until the platform is supported.
If you google my slashdot handle and OtherOS, it will be blatantly clear that I was really big into using my PS3 for OtherOS. I helped others past the technical hurdles of trying different distros/DE's on it back in the day. Hell, playing with OtherOS was what I used my ps3 most for - just for fun, even though I had Linux on my PCs.
That said: I can't claim my $55. In fact, I can't even get the $9:
Two years or so back, my PS3 got the yellow light of death. I refuse to give Sony any more money, so I did not have them repair it. I trashed it and now use an AlienWare Steam Machine. So, I don't have the PS3 serial number. I also don't have statements (if I even used a credit card - don't remember) beyond the last few years - definitely not all the way back to the release day in 2006. So, proof #1 can't be provided.
Sony has records. They know I bought it because the can see it logged into the PS network. They could probably even show login records that make visible the year gap where I refused to update so I could keep OtherOS. But they're adding a hurdle that will save them money and screw over a bunch of their former customers.
Fuck Sony. They're never getting another dime from me or anyone in my family.
It's been many months since I last tried Unity 8, and I'm quite disappointed to see the current state. With the focus Canonical has claimed towards convergence, I expected it to present a much friendlier interface by now... yet it doesn't appear to have progressed at all. Are they spending all their time on it fixing Mir, or building yet another web browser which no one is going to use?
At this rate, when will it be ready for "real" users? 18.04? If that's their pace, why bother? Considering the other *complete* desktops are already building steam with Wayland, can Unity 8 hope to be anything except underwhelming when it finally crosses the finish line? Wayland's bound to be more feature-complete and stable than Mir when all is said and done due to the multiple desktop implementations being built on it, and those desktops have years of development over the components that Unity 8's now building from scratch.
I've always been an Ubuntu supporter, but Canonical just seems too stubborn to steer away from the lighthouse now. It's frustrating to see a company I like wasting their time and resources hoping for a revolutionary product where there's no particular market or demand, as they've done with the phone.
I propose a test: Create an alternate account and re-post the same things Donald Trump posts. Maybe change the names/groups mentioned in order to protect the innocent.
Then, if Twitter shuts you down, you would have a pretty open and shut case as to preferential and selective treatment.
FedEx packages are travelling through a confined system of checkpoints. Unless Christie wants to put checkpoints all around America and have everyone showing their papers to TSA agents on every public highway, it just won't work.
How about using glamor instead of uxa? Does that work around it too, or is the bug just so rare I haven't noticed it?
I run KDE plasma 5, have been using glamor for a long while, and am running the xorg-edgers drivers... and I haven't seen anything like the bug described at kde.org.
Gotta agree. If your car loses power, are you just going to swing the door open and hope some non-autonomous driver isn't about to fly around you on that side of your car? I'd like to see what's outside please.
Let them vote. Within 30 years, it will become apparent who was bought and paid for - and that stigma will be put front and center on all their historical Wikipedia entries.
Some of the affected people say the sound resembles "Yanny", while other swear it sounds more like "Laurel".
> ...is to use hand-coded rules called "regular expressions."
You mean: ...is to use hand-coded rules called "^regular expressions\.$"

But then how are you going to live-tweet it?
Some directors apparently slept through their college discussions on anti-trust and restrictive practices.

This would have been more believable if they hadn't put all that makeup on Nicolas Cage and got him to portray the town mayor.

You're thinking of the Dallas police department.

Seriously. How do you patent something that's completely obvious, not really hard to implement, and publicly seen in a movie 14 years ago?

Not only do they wiretap your Skype calls, they patented it: http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacg....

Bill Nye is great. But, his evil doppleganger from the 25th century, NY Bill, sounds fucking horrible.

Really?!?! It's health insurance you pick as the dangerous area? No mention of them being in charge of our military, or all the interstate bridges?
The C=64 used a 6510 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOS_Technology_6510). The 1541 disk drives used 6502's though.

They should really think about that.
You're thinking of The Jerk
in my totally anecdotal experience, I get better gaming performance with Plasma 5 than with Unity. I'm not sure why, but it's noticeable.
I say we combine the two and call it the Microsoft Leukemia.
Redesign the heating towers to look like giant cats.
Next problem, please.
