    I think, that an image in the raw format preserves information about alignment of RGB cells in every pixel of the camera. This is a sub-pixel data. It allows you to produce more accurate end picture after processing.
    There are many configurations for camera sensors. For example:

    Of course, I don't see myself as a "Java programmer" or a "carpenter" or a "brick layer". I wouldn't take any pride in that. I have a degree in computer science...

    ...Because of the size and footprint issues, you can't do embedded with Java.

    To further extend your knowledge in computer science, look into the Internet tool called "Google". Using it can save you from ridiculing yourself by publicly posting uneducated statements:

    Digital: Bleh! I really want this to work, but I haven't seen a successfull installation with more than 20 feet of wire!

    Why not to use CAT5 with network of old chip computers. 10Base T NIC is five times faster than required for streaming CD quality stereo digital signal without any compression.

    Personally I'm just waiting for the day when some cracker uploads a script like

    I have tried to run the script on my Linux box but nothing happened.
    I am going to try it once again cause now I have to reboot my machine.
    What do I do wrong?

    As a matter of fact I do know one case when a person was killed by 12V battery. I am not kidding. Couple of years ago some miner had been immobilized by collapsed wall in a mine. Wires connecting his headlamp with the battery were cut. His body was very sweat. He didn't die very fast, and it was 12V that killed him.

    And yes, 48V can kill you.

    It is not that simple. As you apply higher voltage to your skin, its resistance will decrease very rapidly, and in the result the current flowing through your body will be much greater. And yes, 48V can kill you.

    1. The data to which you linked does not bear out your assertion that downloads are increasing their profits. They appear to have averaged about 5-7% revenue growth every year since 1980.

    For the last six years the averaged revenue growth is 7.2 - 9.8% (except for the year 2000 probably due to the recession). That's pretty good figures. For the years 1980-1995, before high speed Internet, the average revenue growth was 5.2% a year.

    2. The data you are showing is relative to ticket sales in theaters, where DeCSS is a non-issue. DeCSS affects the sale of VHS and DVD products by diluting the market for those goods with "pirate" copies that are either free or cheap.

    You are right here. The increase in DVD sales is much more impressive than the revenue growth of the ticket sales.

    4. Just using the numbers you linked to, the movie makers are actually losing more money than ever. So I suggest not using these numbers in any rational debate about the subject at hand.

    The Domestic Grosses are just part of moviemakers revenue. There are also Overseas Grosses, which excide the domestic grosses. There are also rental revenue, merchandise sells, and VHS and DVD sells.

    Well, the statistics do not seem to back this statement up. It looks that the movie industry is doing better then ever:

    YEARLY BOX OFFICE

    In year 2002 they grossed $9,135 millions.
    In year 2000 $7,661 millions.
    In year 1996 $5,911 millions.
    So the number of downloads mast be increasing their profits, and if it is so, I think they should repay some money to the downloading community for advertising and marketing activities.

    The "private" thing to do would be to get a different cell # every time you make or receive a call.

    No sir. Whether your cell number will change every call, or will stay the same for the life is the same thing for the big brother. He is going to know your identity anyway. For anybody else you can block your number when you make a call. Associating your identity with thighs you do, what you posses, where you go, and how you behave, that is a loss of privacy.
