    Anyone that advocates "fairness" in the media or the internet is simply afraid of the marketplace of ideas. They are afraid that if their knuckleheaded ideas are subjected to market forces, nobody will listen - therefore they need to be forced on everyone because that is only "fair"

    In case anyone is dumb enough to use a Microsoft DNS server as a authoritative internet DNS server -

    MS has released two lovely patches -

    KB951746 and KB951748

    The problem with this fix is that it turns the DNS.EXE daemon into a UDP socket grubbing whore.

    After the patch, the DNS.EXE daemon grabs no less than 2500 freaking UDP sockets.

    This wreaks havoc on anything that - you know - needs UDP sockets on the same server.

    So far Zonealarm, Blackberry BES and Sphericall VOIP software all break with this "patch"

    Stay tuned for more fun to come ...

    Solution?

    Got a basic/stock "business class" PC - a basic one that's not all pimped out and overclocked

    does the job and it's quiet now too ...

    I for one wanted my kids (3) to all remember important information - in cases of emergency or if they got lost etc...

    I set their passwords to our home phone, cell phone or home address

    Even really young kids can learn to remember those - every time they wanted to use the computer, they would practice that very important information

    It didn't take any huge amount of effort for them to remember those 10 digit numbers

    Two problems solved with one solution
