This is clearly a message to MS who has been patenting *rediculous* stuff as of late, which there is wide speculation that MS will then sue key Linux software makers to cripple the OS.
The american way is supposed to be "truth and justice for all." That includes truth you don't want to hear and truth that is damaging like this fellow pointed out, you ethically bankrupt little pissant.

If you don't understand why its so good, than its doubtful anyone can explain it. This is not flamebait. You have been programmed not to be curious about what makes life precious. If you stop and consider it, you may have to be retired.
Oh please. While the movie did have its good points -- the symbolism was corny and emotionally manipulative and was puncuated by terrible performances. For me the realism of the film was ruined by these and the lackluster plot.
I refuse to have my humanity judged on the basis of a mediocre movie. Do a better job of trolling next time:)

This is not a troll. I seriously don't understand the fascination with Blade Runner. I saw the special edition and thought it was very average. Could you please explain why it deserves to be on a top 50 list?
I am revoking your slashdot license. Although your spelling is above average, your cofunsion of the concepts of trademark, patent and copyright are unacceptable. Please note you are still fully qualified to post at fark.
The N standard isn't even finalizd yet. The problem is -- when someone goes ahead an releases hardware when the standard isn't written, it ties the hands of the working group writing the standard. If I were them I'd tweak something to make the belkin shit (and yes, its shit) worthless:)
but more moral people are left with is a totally different set of datapoints though. Homosexuality isn't an indicator- but immoral behavior such as multiple sexual partners and drug abuse is, so the smarter fundies will just use it to reduce that behavior.
While this is true, "moral" is of course relative. A "moral" activity like going to church could easily expose you to infectious agents. When I was in college the *entire* CS department had to be tested for TB because some kid who came down with TB used our labs.
And what about an indian who after a hard day of running a casino uses payote which is part of his beliefs? is that immoral?:)
omfg don't you have employee protection laws in the US?
Not really, no. Your only option is to sue which would easily costs half a years salary for someone working at a coffee shop. A friend of mine was sued by his employer after he left -- the claim was *totally* bogus and thrown out of court, but it ended up costing him almost 60,000 dollars (about what he makes in an entire year).
A friend of mine was in a similiar situation once... he was a manager of a starbucks, and while he was unpacking a delivery of supplies he noticed the order was wrong and said under his breath "this is fucked up."
Two weeks later he is fired for *SEXUAL HARRASMENT* for using the word "fuck". And because he is fired for something of his fault, he is ineligable for unemployment benefits (which starbucks would have had to pay).
Lots of places have policies to *never* fire someone. The best thing to do is to force them to fire you:)
Could guard companies rightly claim that a municipal police force is robbing them of business opportunities?
I know you're doing a what if, but we had that and they were called the Pinkertons. And they were *brutal*. They were the detectives, the police, the judge, the jury, and executioners.
Believe it or not, the level of corruption we experience now is nothing compared to the past (although still unacceptable).
This would be great news if it were anyone else but SBC. SBC delivering TV over DSL is like letting the retarded neighbor kid fix your car. You know he cant do it, but it might be fun to watch him try.
Seriously, SBC cant get DSL right (PPPoE, WTF?), I have no confidence in their ability to get TV working as well.
Sprint is a bunch of dickheads (tm). I bought a nokia 3585 to replace my 3588... The 3588 and 3585 are supposed to be *identical* except for the color screen (which I dont give a crap about).
I get the 3585 home and discover theyve disabled *ALL* the text messaging features, the Java VM, even the ability to select rings for different callers...
Actually, (im the grandparent), the way I knew the fellow was I was the unix admin at the university he worked at. And I always gave him root on his local machine. That being said, they weren't looking for "unix experience"... they were looking for someone who in addition to having a PHD, and experience in 3 disperate research fields, could also be a unix admin!
Speaking as someone with a recording studio (and a computer science degree) --
Quality makes a difference for analog transmission. Quality analog cables are shielded well, and have thick woven ductile copper and thick insulators, and low impedance. That being said -- dont believe the hucksters who tell you that their cables are specially wound to deliver your audio at the correct phase. Utter nonsense
Digital cable, makes much less a difference, but you can avoid retransmission with cables that arent terrible.
Also, some protocols like s/pdif simply dont *DO* retransmission. IIRC correctly, your dads amp probably uses s/pdif and theres a *VERY* good chance the amp is "locked" to the s/pdif signal (basically the amp is using the sp/dif clock signal). That being said -- if you cant hear any problems its probbaly Good Enough (tm).
Sadly, monsters pro audio cables are pretty decent (although Id love to hear from about other/cheaper/better products). They run 10 - 15$ a piece for patch cables which isnt that expensive when you think about the risk of ruining a *recording* using a 3$ cable. Or the endless hours of checking *EVERY* cable in your setup looking for the one thats crackling:)
Some of the accucheck devices can beam info back to a PDA (oddly enough last time I looked it was their cheapest 20$ model, and their most expensive model only). I bought mine for that feature then realized I dont give a crap about statistics:)
Some parts of San Diego for sure, but this place was in the Chino Hills area, also was two years ago.

The forever interview is becoming a new staple of the hiring process.
I had *10 hours* of interviews for a company that didn't end up hiring *ANYONE*, for a shity 50k a year entry position (yes, 50k a year is shitty in the area it was in when an apartment costs 1500/m).
A friend of mine got hired for a company who wanted an expert in *3* non-related research fields (he has a PHD and luckily and experience in those fields). He flew up there and did several *days* of interviews, Then they called him back and said he would also have to be an expert in Unix and could he fly back up to meet their Unix team.
We were able to maniupulate the test conditions and make him appear to be a unix expert. Hes been employed for a couple months now, and has worked entirely as a unix admin, which isnt even what hes hired for.
In Arizona (if memory serves) a man who was selling marijuana got *off* because he was purchasing Arizonas marijuana's tax stamps. After that the law was quickly repealed:)
My thoughts exactly. I worked at a walmart (although not as a checker) for a little while after college and people tried this *ALL* the time.
Im sure some people got away with it, but most got caught. I remember a cashier telling me about a guy who was buying leather jackes which curiously rang up at 17$ each.
Apparently the trick is to find something similar to what you want to steal, if you want to steal a 50$ pillow, find a 5$ one that will ring up and say "pillow" not "crayons or something:)
However, I am a self righetous prick, I think harming walmart is good no mater what:)
Then it was an *excellent* troll :)
