Do you want to live in a society where only the government has access to the cameras or one where everyone has access? That's a trick question, right? What about NO CAMERAS?
It's not *only* the darkness of the roast, but also the serving size. After all, a proper dark roast espresso is generally served in a *much* smaller cup than a good mug of a lighter roasted filter brew.
Is it just me, or are there more people that think that instead of getting busy automating the process of classifying new strains of computer viruses, Trojans and other malicious software programs, maybe they should address the cause of the problem first?
From my perspective, if I could reliably block all spam originating from abroad, I'd have 99.9% less spam in my inbox. I'd take the occasional Nigerian scam for granted.
Now the original poster mentioned not wanting to shell out bigtime for a multitrack recorder, but that just might be the ideal solution in the end. A second-hand EMU darwin wouldn't cost that much for 8 tracks, and will record to FAT filesystem (in fact I have one left over in good state which I may be willing to sell). An Alesis HD24 is a rather economical solution for 24 tracks, and has built-in FTP server which guarantees Linux compatibility, should this be a requirement. Plus there is a highly active forum on yahoo.
I have no idea why Firefox doesn't have this simple scaling yet (or does it somehow?).
Ctrl-scrollwheel will resize fonts. Doesn't do much for graphics tho.
Cyan, magenta, black and white ought to be enough for every body!!!!
If you don't mind, I prefer the green, orange, red palette, with blue as the background color of choice. At least that allowed one to dither most colors (except black). And of course, palette swapping between scanlines was a nice trick too:)
Excuse me but isn't a pixel an elementary PICture ELement? If a pixel is rendered as 2x2, this changes the very definition of what a pixel is. While we're at it, we might as well change the metric system so that a meter really means 2 meters.
We have to deal with shallow people too. I don't care about the way I dress, but I'm smart enough to be neat and clean -- because although I might not care, I realize that other people might be shallow enough to do so. Just because I choose to dress properly, that doesn't make me a conformist.
When your dress code is intended to make a statement, you can make that statement in neat clothes too. All you have to do is to walk the walk, rather than letting your clothes talk the talk.
Ever heard of this 'Linux' thing? It was originally developed by a European. If the internet would've been national-only, you would probably never even have heard of Linux (and probably, neither would the Europeans- after all, what is Linux without GNU?) IMNSHO, the international nature of the internet is exactly what gives it its added value.
I feel disturbed by the often-seen attitude of North Americans of looking no further than their own coutry. Stop that already; it is exactly joining forces that makes this world a better place.
You can still get trichonosis or tapeworm from infected meat Then cook it (the meat, not the tapeworm. Then again, cooked tapeworm should make for a pretty good source of protein).
A drive bay compatible with the HD24 caddie cost around 15 bucks. Alesis' fireport (which does the same thing, except via firewire) weighs in at around 200 - windows software included. People just *might* go for the drive bay if the software isn't an issue. So yes, they might lose revenue over there.
On the other hand, sorting out the 10 megabit speed issue just might cause some more people to buy HD24 recorders.
> Does having the data available on Linux make sense?
It does to me. It allows me to run a studio setup completely on open source software. That alone has saved me several thousands without doing anything illegal.
> Are there any tools to edit the data which are at least as good as the Windows tools?
If you are referring to audio editing programs, well -they're not as good as the windows software but have at least reached the "good enough" stage.
If you talk about the file transfer software - Not by far (yet);) The windows tools can both read and write the disks. For now, anything I've written for personal use is read-only (I don't want to hose any actual data just yet).
Perhaps to export it FROM the US, yes. Only thing is - it wasn't invented in the US. Or maybe you are referring to the DMCA? In that case, let's see how well the Germans are protected by US law.

Never mind how far. I wonder what their airspeed would be?
Exactly. Try misplacing 25000 floppy disks.
...being able to spend 250 grand on a toy instead of on hungry people in Africa. I want one.
nonono. not woo. it's "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! uhuhuhu"
Like sending him lube ads?
Even if they got evey one who operates in the US we would still have a problem overseas
That's a bit short-sighted. It would get rid of the majority of all spam, considering that the U.S. is the main source of all spam. China, although being the most popular non-US relay for spam, doesn't even come close.

In turn, US law is roughly based on UK law.
M-audio and RME work.

Hang dust cover over screen after use. Problem solved.

The TVs by other manufacterers will be more expensive.
I thought it used to be the Six *Million* dollar man. Talk about inflation...
...post a link to the image?

Well - I guess I could be my own friend.
Well, any tool can be abused but not all abuse is bad. Gotta love this one :)
