    I think that it will be a problem to have cell phones available in the air. I for one will pack my cell phone jammer in my luggage. The other worry I would have about cellphones on planes already exists and that is remote detonation. All it takes is one cellphone packed with plastic explosives not checked by the undertrained and ineffective security staff and welcome to Lockerbie part deux.

    What I think is an amusing anecdote related to ignorant network administrators.

    I worked at a university and at a community college as a tech and a sysadmin respectively. People like who you encountered are everywhere. My boss spent tons of money on outside contractors so they could be blamed if things went wrong and, well, because he didn't know sh*t. I remember looking at invoices for services rendered before I was hired. There was one $300 USD invoice was for deleting users from Novell. WTF?

    You'd make a change in the Earth's climate by reducing the consumption of fossil fuel's whose byproducts add to the greenhouse effect. Reducing that carbon waste into the atmosphere would result in reduced greenhouse gas effect.

    the page style may be outdated. it may be unappealing to some tastes, but it is light on my bandwidth and theirs, provides an easy to navigate interface to access information quickly, and looks fine in a console/xterm window. i still use links, lynx, to browse. i use mozilla firebird and dillo on boxes with guis.

    So what is an IP-addressable network? Could the wireless decoy router have an IP address that is accessible to the outside world? Yes. Could that same wireless decoy be the gateway to public IP addresses that are not used? Yes. Why isn't it a darknet then? I don't understand. The OP did not specify if the wireless router was publically 'adressable' or not.

    use Deep Freeze on the comp. setup a schedules to reboot every morning and to defrag in the background. have a remote access like remote admin or tightvnc to fix or update the computer.

    buy one of those inexpensive dc to ac power inverters. Since i bought a 400w power inverter $20.00USD, i no longer have to buy the damned expensive travel inverters to power/recharge $PORTABLE_DEVICE.

    They're not being welcomed into the fold to keep the balance of power in a status quo. The power being the ability to get into space outside the earth's atmosphere. China is on the forefront of being a stronger superpower than the USA and EU. They have a surplus of trade and produce most of the world's manufactured goods from IC and microchips, from toys to steel, and clothing to electronics. What holds China back are lack of oil resources which the USA has secured so nicely and access to space.

    China's becoming an industrialized nation but it is not built on the backs of its intelligentsia but upon the backs of its exploited workers. Having a well educated workforce is not a priority, yet. Once capitalism takes a firmer hold upon China, the children of the capitalists will be the ones well-educated enough to function in high technology markets.
