Walkmans sold for less than $20 and those cassette tape players had amazing anti-skip tech. Way ahead of their time.

I've been a member of Fark for quite a few years now (five digit ID, aw yeah), and they have always been against the NSFW postings. You could never post actual NSFW images in the discussion forums, even for discussions of a NSFW link. You could link to stuff, but only if you had large notices that the link was NSFW. If something is questionable, they remove it anyway.

I also have a five digit fark ID, which i am quite proud of as i have a shitty six digit slashdot ID. You speak the truth, many years ago i posted a photoedit in one of their contests of R2D2 holding a huge dildo. It was removed in minutes.

  16. CBD on Cannabis Compound Said To "Halt Cancer" · · Score: 5, Informative

The article notes that smoking cannabis will not deliver significant quantities of CBD.

Actually, you can get CBD from smoking cannabis, but most cannabis is optimized for the best high (most abount of THC).

CBD is one of the two lesser psychoactive chemicals (CBN is the other) that THC breaks down to in the late life cycle of the cannabis plant. Most growers harvest when the plant is "ripe", when it has the most THC. If you wait a week or two after the peek harvest time, the THC will break down and have a higher percentage of CBD and CBN and a lesser percentage of THC.

  17. EU needs more security on EU Wants Air Passenger Data Collected · · Score: 2, Interesting

I spent some time in Italy this summer. It is a very lovely country with amazing food. One thing that struck me as strange was the extremely lax security at the airport. Me and my party literally walked through without anyone checking anything at any time. They didn't even LOOK at our passports. I wanted them to stamp mine so I would have the Italy stamp, but the man just waved us on past. I did notice though that all the people the men with machine guns where searching all where Arabic looking men.
I had a stop over in Germany on my way back to the states. Every single person gets a pat-down and a metal detector wand treatment... serveral times. The passport guy in Germany in fact gave us a hard time because we didn't have the Italy stamp. We explained that they wouldn't even look at our passports and he just shook his head and made some comment about the way things are run down there.

Superior Court Judge Winifred Smith also said county officials should pay attorneys' fees and reimburse a medical marijuana group more than $22,000 for the costs it incurred during a disputed recount shortly after the November 2004 election.
At least the medical marijuana group got reimbursed for their attorney fees but... You are right, they now have to campaign to get people out to vote for this again and that equals $$$. It's hard enough to get around all the government disinformation about marijuana, so many people have been brainwashed into thinking the "war on drugs" is doing something good for us. The "war on drugs" is sending non-violent drug users to prison where they learn to be criminals and are more likely to turn into criminals because now their job options are limited by going to prison. It also creates a large black market (aka gangs and crime). Just look at what happened during the alcohol prohibition.
