I realize that no one smokes weed through a cigarette filter, my point was that the tobacco still contains nicotine (that the filter must not catch).

Then you're out of luck with this product. TFA mentions that the filter on these cigarettes is meant to remove toxic compounds, but not nicotine.
P.S. It is spelled cannabis. If you are going to be an advocate for a cause at least learn to spell it correctly, especially when the opposition claims that it lowers intelligence.
This new game is a Google Maps mashup with the classic 'Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego' style of game.
What is wrong with something like:
"It is a 'Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego' style game that implements google maps."
Although I hate the word 'podcast', for example, it at least fills a void where a new term was needed. 'Mashup' is a stupid buzzword that essentially means 'combination of', we already have plenty of more informative ways to express this idea (see above).
How much can you realistically spend per month if you're, say, Bill Gates? 20-30K?
I assure you that your estimate is very low. He probably spends half this amount per month on landscape maintenance for his home. There are all kinds of expenses incurred by a even the most modest of wealthy lifestyles.
That having been said, Gates really is a stand-up guy when it comes to charitable contributions (as most./ers know.)
Prison officials don't try to hide the fact that they don't make much of an attempt to reform most prisoners. They say that they simply do not have the resources to do so, it is difficult enough to find the space for the ever increasing prison population. It's not that prison officials are cold hearted jerks. It seems like many of them would like to see changes to the laws that lead to prison overcrowding, but their job is not legislate. The top priority is keeping certain humans within a specified area while minimizing injury/death to other humans (guards) within the facility.
The Pirate Bay is a Swedish site with a reputation earned by standing up against legal threats.
Excerpt from a Pirate Bay response to a legal threat by ADV Films:
It is the opinion of us, and the Swedish Supreme Court, that
information about WHERE to obtain copyrighted material, which is the
case with Bit Torrent, is not illegal. The '.torrent' files that are
offered for download at the site in question contain nothing more than
hash and checksum information. How this information could, in itself,
possibly be an infrigement of your copyright is beyond us and apparently
the Swedish legal system agrees.
As to this date the third paragraph of the Swedish copyright
legalislation does not criminalize information exchange. You may also
wish to rewiev the 'Lag (1998:112) om ansvar för elektroniska
anslagstavlor'. It is stated in the fifth paragraph that under certain
circumstances an administrator of a site might be required to remove
certain 'messages' entered by the users. However it is our opinion that
'.torrent' files is not of the nature stated here. The subparagraph in
question is aimed at stoping people from quoting whole literature
works or posting copyrighted pictures.
I only could bear to watch a few minutes of that stimulation overload infomercial, it truly was disgusting. My favorite part of the event (that I saw) was the conversation between a microsoft rep and some Viacom whore celebrity regarding the physical design of the new console. I sure am glad that the sleek new design of the xbox360 will please my baby momma!
What about the many Slashdotters who only think that they know the definition of anti-social behavior?
A person with an anti-social personality disorder, sometimes referred to as a sociopath, is someone without regard for others or the rules of society in which they live. You could expect someone exhibiting anti-social behavior to be in and out of prison their entire life, not living in their mother's basement. Socially withdrawn would be an appropriate term to use in this context.
I apologize if I come off like a jerk, I am just trying to correct an error that is all too frequent even among educated people.
Nexus articles are always very informative, I miss reading them. Granted, much of the coverage is of drunken hijinks, but details make those kind of stories even more amusing.
BTW:
I do not recommend Google maps for driving directions yet. Earlier today I needed directions to a store so I used Google maps somehow forgetting that it is in its infancy. About halfway through the directions I realized that I was being instructed to continue on a road that had ended. I cursed a bunch, turned around, and got perfect directions from Yahoo! maps. I'm not bashing Google maps, it was my fault, but frustrating nonetheless.
With a youth culture that, for the most part, has been force fed their musical tastes so that they will buy what Viacom is pushing, I am not surprised that some are predicting the end of the album.
Rant.end()
I have learned that there is nothing better in the world than exploring my own musical tastes and have found the internet a blessing in this regard. If an album sucks except for one song it can't escape internet reviews.
The W3b 2.O Kr3w has to keep themselves relevant by inventing unnecessary words so that they seem ahead of the curve.
Booze refers to ethyl alcohol. In fact, methyl alcohol is added to ethyl alcohol to make it undrinkable so that it can be sold for lab use.

Nice job on this article, thanks.
Mash-up is worse because it is a buzzword. It is only used by "bloggers" who think that everything is "amazing."
Bonus points if you can use the phrase "Flickr photo set" in the same sentence.

I'm puzzled by this "response." Did you respond to the wrong comment? If not your ability to convey ideas needs a lot of work.

I guess this is why most Slashdot articles don't link to wiki pages....

I can see it now, a virtual environment where the user sits at a vintage 2GHz Athlon machine and plays Half-Life 2.
What is funny is that it will happen some day , hopefully we will all be there to appreciate it.
