  1. The Zaurus? on What Subnotebooks Work Best w/ Linux? · · Score: 5, Informative

i know the Zaurus isnt really a subnotebook, but it falls between the subnote book and the pda category. It already runs linux, is easy to develop for, and is easy to port existing linux applications to. If you know QT, its also easy to integrate existing apps with the GUI that comes preinstalled. Best of all, there are open source projects to replace the OS of the Zaurus with an open source version. Also, sharp's technical support is very good, and the staff very friendly, and they usually hang out on #zaurus on irc.freenet.net

I personally am very against selling another soul to everquest. ;)

I don't know about you, but I'm not a terrorist, and I'd STILL like to have my civil liberties in tact after this is all said and done. Things like being able to speak freely in public without fear of being secretly arrested. Things like being able to go to the library to do a report on nucleur missiles without getting reported to the FBI. I'm lucky enoug to live in the same town as one of the digital theaters (one of the lucas sound system theaters too! :) and I can say, for any good movie, I'll drive across town to see it. There's a definite difference between seeing it at a normal theater and seeing it in the state of the art theater. EA Originally DID shut down the UOX project which let ultima online users run their own servers for free instead of for pay. After the EA servers got overloaded and they couldn't support all the players, they dropped the lawsuits and let people have all the free servers they wanted. Now there are hundreds of free servers and UO is still in existence because of it, and the server load on the main server has dropped dramatically. Battlenet's currently running very close to the same problem. Its servers are laggy, even during non peak hours, and during peak hours its almost impossible to play.
