I almost never buy used games PS3 games, but I almost always wait until a game is part of the "Greatest Hits" collection. That way I'm reasonably certain it's a good game. I'm too cheap to pay full price.
It wouldn't surprise me if Teller hopes he loses too. Penn & Teller strike me as just the type of guys who would sue someone in hopes of losing in order to set a precedent against a bad law. Would that make them anti-copyright trolls?
I have a friend who is currently getting radiation treatment for his radiation therapy, and he told the officer that he'd prefer a pat-down the last time he flew. I told him next time to ask "Is it a problem that I have an erection?" Coincidentally, this guy is the only person I know who had a telemarketer hang up on him! He had the guy on the line for 15 minutes asking all sorts of questions.
Because this is Slashdot. Apple is that evil bad nasty walled-garden company that makes products those filthy commoners like...
No. I'm a Mac user, and Apple has always done the right thing if something went wrong with the hardware on my computer, but in this case they were wrong. They went back on a promise, they should be held responsible.
LOL! I don't play while out in the woods, but rather in the evenings while I'm in the house. I doubt I'd have much success shooting a deer while frantically clicking & hitting keys on my laptop. Of course, I do like to play games while on long rides etc., so that was just one example.:-P
Ditto. One of the few times I have free time to play games is in the evening during deer hunting season. Our deer camp is out in the sticks, no internet for miles around. If I can't play a game I legitimately purchased without continuously getting the company's constant approval, I'm not interested.
There's no excuse for being up at 1 am grading papers. Any system that allows this is broken. If a teacher can't complete their days work in 8 hours, we need more teachers. Period.
I'm a part-time adjunct at a community college. I made the dumb decision to give them an extension on a couple of assignments, so I had 3 weeks worth of homework to grade, and I didn't start until about 9. Not quite the controversy you were expecting.;-)
Still, I do put in more hours than I get paid for, but it's a labor of love.
Yeah, I know teaching is a drag and a lot of work, but that's what they're paying you for. I was up until 1:30 last night fixing/grading code and writing a final project assignment. It's not fun, and I could have easily just ran the programs and told them it didn't work so they got a zero. There's more value for the students when they get feedback from me telling them what specific errors they got, or a way they could have written code more efficiently, etc.
It gives an illusion of being in a foreign language. If they spoke with a southern American accent, it would be incongruous. For an example of this, check out "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves." Yeah, I know it's an English movie, but Kevin Costner drops his English accent about 1/4 of the way into the movie, and it's extremely noticeable and jarring.
Me, my wife & my stepson all have separate accounts on our PS3. My stepson & I play most of the same games, my wife & I play Little Big Planet. You have separate accounts so you don't mess up each others save game files. I can definitely say that I will not be buying a PS4 if this turns out to be the case.
"Hmmm this guy posts a lot of anti-Bush, anti-Obama, and anti-Romney stuff. My god and he says he voted for that nutjob Ron Paul. Time to trash his resume."
You can tell even more of a difference if you were to sit closer. you are sitting outside the window that physics dictates, but then you might be a superhero that has laser vision.
No superhero-vision. I had both a PS3 & PS2 hooked up to the same TV, put a Blu-Ray & a DVD from a combo pack in their respective players, and toggled the source back & forth to show my wife (who also wears glasses) the difference. I'm sure a better test would have been two PS3's hooked up with HDMI, with the DVD being upscaled, but that wasn't really an option for side-by-side comparison at our house.
A lot of my co-workers are friends on Facebook, and I've received requests from them to be friends. I politely declined, explaining that I like to keep a strict line between my work & my private life. If I was applying for a job and they did not want to respect my desire for some form of privacy, I'd probably just throw out the application. If it was during an interview, I'd probably tell them "Thanks, but no thanks" and walk out.
This guy must have bad eyes. I have a PS3 & 42" 1080p TV. Ours is probably 8-10 feet away depending on where you sit in our living room. I can easily tell the difference between a Blu-Ray and DVD. In fact, it's a tremendous difference in clarity.
Here. Wish they'd just do that in the summary.
Forum post says Mac OS X. I don't think he'd get many takers for Mac OS 9, even if he was giving it away without ads.
I don't see how this is related to anything relevant to this site, even with them wedging Wikileaks into the summary.
You're not alone. Should be modded insightful.

Should read "radiation treatment for pancreatic cancer".

This story contradicts the story posted over at TTAC where they claim the shutdown has been extended from two weeks to three weeks.
Or maybe they were going to shut down for three weeks, then decided to only shut down for two, so they could claim they were resuming "early".
Editors stay in your lane. There is nothing relevant in this case to tech, or nerd issues.
Manipulation of recorded data by a major media outlet to change peoples' perception is not relevant to tech?
The only question left begging is how soon can we merge them with bionic eye implants?
I believe the answer is 2027.

Here's an interesting info-graphic I saw for the first time today. Pretty much falls in line with the rest of the sentiment here.

HP Touchpads for $99!

Looks like I'm screwed!

Somewhat telling that the bill that resulted in vast civil rights violations in America was passed in 1984, don't you think?
Yes, and they haven't stopped there either. Thanks for the info.
