I really think they are going for(and will have) the 'Complete Game' this time. The engine has basically been done for a while. They are now working on content. It may still be pretty straight forward find key/move forward gameplay, but I think the atmosphere and battles will rock.
Boy I had one of those last week. I had eaten at Taco Bell the night before. Next night I'm driving back home late at night on a rural highway when the little chihuahua wants out. I pulled over and ran into the woods and out came this molten mass that was steamin as it hit the ground. I'm quite sure it's still sinking.
I agree with your point completely. However, I don't think your examples fit 'kid-oriented' except Scooby-Doo. The Flintstones in particular was the first ever prime time cartoon and started in the 60's as a sort of animated Honeymooners. Sure there was plenty of slap stick and sight gags, but there are adult themes throughout. Maybe lesser so for the Jetson's(Although I always get a kick when some wizbang new product is intoduced(maybe even on/.) and I remmember seeing it 20+ years ago on the Jetson's), but not nearly so mindless as many of the other 70's cartoons.
Got a new train set and several buildings, etc for Christmas many years ago. Spent weeks building a 4'x8' table. Used the green bag-o-grass and glue instead of the paper, Huge Paper mache mountain with bridge, roads, buildings, street lights. Had everything installed, but not completely wired. That upcoming weekend I was going to finish everything. Hard Freeze in late February and a pipe in the Kitchen upstairs bursts. It must have been 2-3am and many, many, many gallons came down right on my mountain and then on my trains and then on the floor. The mountain melted, trains and track rusted, base was brown and the carpet was green.
I've tried Skin-so-soft as a supposed 'bug repellant'. The only way that it works is through Brute Force. Cover yourself with enuf of the stuff and the bugs stick to you and cannot move/bite.
I don't it should be possible to patent 'information' that is by its own existence 'prior art'. Processes to extract, create, manipulate this information should be patentable.
