Don't you watch futurama? Once you get to the edge of the universe there's a lookout point where you can look at the other universe.. (yes, there's only 2 universes)
I've called, they didn't. heh. they said they were doing it to help avoid spam being sent.. doesn't really make sense to me, if i was going to spam i certainly wouldn't do it from my home computer..
I'd say Opera's interface is anything but slick, it's the MySpace of web browsers when it comes to looks. Even IE looks classier than Opera.. (firefox obviously taking the crown).
Honnestly, the only thing that stops me from using Opera is it's ugly interface.
with 100 invites, it's basically just a regular webmail account.. anyone can get a gmail account these days.. there's pretty much no way of tracking this person down unless they get his IP and go after his ISP.
MyDoom.A was also far easier to remove than something that's embedded it'self into the system, making it unremovable, then requiring a complete reinstall of the system..
"Microsoft also says that WGA is a necessary part of its campaign to catch those illegally using Windows XP"
It sure didn't stop me.. nor did it stop anyone else i know who's got an illegal copy. But it sure did piss off a whole lot of people who did pay for their copy..
Am I the only one who thought: "what about umbrellas"? You know, those long metal lightning-rod-like things that people USUALLY carry around above their heads when it rains... ?
Yahoo messenger is extremely bloated (uses 30-50megs of ram), it crashes ALL the time on me (on multiple computers), and last of all, the protocol itself (YMSG) is horribly designed, no logic used whatsoever when they created it.
Exactly, I had one of my domain names held hostage by them about 5 months ago. They told me they had received a complaint about spam for my domain and so I was required to pay $199USD. I told them to fuck off and wanted to transfer the domain to netsol, but godaddy REFUSED to allow me to transfer without first paying them the $200. I took me more than a month of yelling at their 'managers' on the phone who didn't give a shit about ICANN regulations before they allowed the transfer.
Godaddy's policies are terrible, they will do anything to make extra money.
You happily skipped over Office X and MSN Messenger (their new version is actually semi decent.. dare i say.. better than the XP version?)
But i agree, they have a bad habbit of not maintaining their mac products.. (keep in mind though, what is their motivation?)
I can tell you're a marketer.. who else would buy or not buy a product solely based on the advertising surrounding it?
How about we just stop looking to blame others?
Global warming isn't the government's fault, it's OUR fault. Does the government make you drive a car to work?

I've tried that myself, but 2 problems arised..
1) my ISP blocks my smtp server
2) my spam filters aren't anywhere near as good as those i am provided with gmail or even my ISP's servers..
Yeah, well as long as we don't get infected with real's products when we download firefox, what's the problem?
That's why you fight it in court. It would be very easy to win such a case if the arresting officer has no evidence.
You don't think that we'll have more advanced technologies in.... 300 years?
Where's the option to turn off the theme and make the browser look like the system's default theme?
Like I need another winamp type app that refuses to use UI standards.
"Opera has some slick UI conveniences"

It's simple, same syndrome as 'Windows'.
"Everyone else is using it."

no, the difference being that it is far more detectible by a virus scanner if it cannot embed it'self in the system..
any half decent scanner will pick up a known virus that is trying to do naughty things to the system (unless it's able to hide, ala-rookit..)

Maybe you should read this then..

I mean golly, who doesn't know that all the hip cool terrorists out there use MySpace to plan their attacks..
oh yeah, and let's pass laws cause uh, pedophiles also. yeah. (i wonder if there's a way they can sneak abortion into this issue as well..)
How hard is it for someone to pirate windows?

Grab a copy of XP from here..

Most pirates, don't need to know anything about cracking/pirating other than "what bitorrent" is..
Crypto's perfectly legal here, as far as i know there aren't any laws (yet) that say we have to hand over the keys..

How fast do they produce more professors?
If the timeframe is less than an election term then, sure expect that sort of thing to work. Then again, this is China we're talking about..
They don't even care for OS X version.
Yup, and they don't even care about windows.

If i can burn it, play it on my dvd player, move it to any of my computers easily, and is on par with current dvd quality.. I'm down for $9.99.
