She asked me to check; I checked, and explained where everyone was and that everyone was accounted for. She asked to take a quick look inside; I allowed her to, and she was in and out within a few seconds and I watched her every second.

I'd take umbrage if a random policeman asked me to even identify myself as I was walking down the street. I'd ask them why, and if I had some spare time, refuse.
The phrase "I could care less" is a sarcastic version of "I couldn't care less."
As a Brit, (a nation with arguably some of the best sarcasm/irony in comedy), I would say that I don't find it sarcastic in the least. It just sounds absurd and stupid.
So, if you're using it for sarcastic effect, don't bother.
P.S. Sorry to be so negative, but I'm sick of hearing all this phwoar! stuff about 64bit, when it really isn't that exciting. Guess I haven't had my morning coffee yet..

I also think that Spanish could have some bearing on your "oo"s, for example, the way stupid is pronounced over there: "stoopid". Whereas here, it's "styoopid", or "stchoopid". I notice that people here are moving from "nyoos" to "noos" for "news". Syoo has already become soo (sue).
