Seriously. I love this site, but this infatuation with this stupid movie on DVD means nothing to me. I can think of about 50 more important stories to report on today. Hell, this is only one notch above yet-another-Elian-Gonzalez-story. Enough. If it comes out on DVD, fine. If it doesn't, then don't give G Lucas any more of your money and shut up.
Maybe that Natalie Portman-obsessed guy was onto something...
The funny thing is that AccuWeather, in response, sent the Unisys CEO a 50 MB GIF of an altered satellite image of a hand with a middle finger covering the western part of the US. The caption at the bottom said "Blow Us." = )
Are you f**king kidding me??? How low can M$ go? Ralph Reed is Satan Incarnate. This scumbag headed up one of the most conservative organizations in the world and now Bill G is partnering up. Well, isn't that just dandy. I hope this move backfires so bad.
If I hadn't lost respect for M$ already, this REALLY does it.
Not neccessarily for Linux-based companies, for for a butt-load of tech companies shooting for IPOs. Take a look at what's happening, people. Everyone's lost sight of what *business* is all about. What the hell are companies like pets.com, E-Machines, LinuxCare, ad nauseum going public for? What so different about a business simply because it's got a ".com" name to it? Apparently, we're finding out it's "not a whole lot." The IPO now seems to be what everyone gives a shit about and it's payback time, baby. You thought a lot of companies were getting hit now in the stock market, keep your eyes open.
LinuxCare is yet another joke of an example. Shady accounting practices (duh). No real business plan (duh). And really shows no potential of being a formidable business.....EVER. Same goes for the companies mentioned above. You can drop in almost any name, btw. Look what happened to Eprise (EPRS) and E-Machines. They went public 2 weeks ago, and their charts look like divebombs. WHERE'S THE MONEY?? WHERE ARE THE REAL REVENUES? WHERE IS THE REAL GROWTH GOING TO COME FROM?
Every one of you should get your hands on a copy of FORTUNE Magazine from 3 weeks ago. It goes very deep into the schemes dot.com companies are pulling just to get funding, boost their IPO...only to base it all on ficticious/not-very-solid business. It's really sad, but greed is going to let out a lot of the hot air out of the dot.com bubble. And this garbage with LinuxCare is your typical reason. Good riddance.
Is this a joke? How about getting one of the hot chicks who've been posing as Lara at the game conventions? What about the porno chicks who've been imitating her? How about someone......good looking? This is sad. Oh well. I actually don't care. I think this is for the guys who go nuts when they see "her" at Nintendo conventions, so...
Holy crap. Did AOL/Nutscrape do ANY end-user testing on this piece of garbage? The main change to the browser is that is is NOT easy to use. I find myself searching for just about everything. The toolbars (if you could call them that) are miniscule. Home? How about having the damn button up there along with forward, back, and stop? The icons are lame. Basically, the layout was done to look pretty instead of function well. Maybe my opinion will change, but I am really turned off by this new browser at the moment. They really messed with the toolbar. It makes you change your usual behavior when browsing. This is simple positioning. Then again, maybe it's my taste. Overall, I give Netscape 6 a C.
...is that IBM won't sell you this neat little thing by itself!!!! You have to subscribe to their Small Business internet service (DSL, FTP, web hosting, etc.) This really sucks. It's a great device, and a lot of IS guys (like myself) would love to pop this on the network. But I can't. I called IBM last week about the InterJet and I couldn't get one w/o the services.
Guess what IBM? Most of us already HAVE high-speed internet service. Sell the damn thing as a stand-alone product and you'll sell a hell of a lot more. = /
I read TONS of news daily. I've been a news hound ever since the 4th Grade (thanks, Mrs. Briggs!). That was ~1982. Anyway, I try to read at least one paper per day, if time permits. I read the WSJ now, mostly because of my Marketing course for Biz school. I love the NYT. Stamford Advocate. USA Today. Whatever. I used to read 3 papers, minimum, per day in college. As big as the net is getting, there's nothing like holding that paper in your hands, feeling nice and calm sitting AWAY from the computer, and flipping the pages. = )

Is Usenet Dying?
·
· Score: 2
On the whole, the quality has gone down. I used to subscribe to more groups than I do now. I've used USENET for over 6 years now, and would kinda feel a bit sad if it ever died. However, the problem with Usenet (and the net as well) is that so many morons now have access to computers. Visit a group like comp.sys.mac.advocacy any time. You will see the same crap over and over. People bickering over Macs and PCs. I got tired of it. Same with a group like alt-rock-n-roll-metal. You have half the people who post worthy items. The other half? Immature, stupid people who mostly post to flame (I am sure most of these wankers wouldn't have the balls to say half that stuff directly to someone's face...), or get so of-topic, they fill the group up with nonsense (why do I want to read a 50-post debate on the philosophies of Plato? I did that for 4 years in college.)
After using it long enough, you know which groups are *mostly* worth subscribing to (i.e. alt.guitar). However, it would be very nice if we had something like a newbie zapper that would shock the keys of an idiot when he discovers the fine world that is USENET.
I'd bet a majority of Americans don't have even the slightest *clue* as to what this whole situation is about. It's probably about as relevant as surveying Americans on the situation in Kosovo. So, once again, screw the polls.....
Wow. Amazing coming from the IT Fluff Factory. I rarely, if ever, listen to what these guys have to say. It's rarely worth a look. They're the big guys, so they can publish/say what they want and people will listen.
Kinda sucks that the stock price has dropped more than 150 since opening. I guess it's still a nice chuck o' change, but you ain't as rich as you thought. = )
I hope so. I used the last beta(alpha? what?) version for Mac and it SUCKED. It was slower than cold maple syrup, crashed repeatedly (couldn't use it more than a few minutes), and I thought the user interface needed a TON of work. If anyone of you haven't used it, take a look at the Netscape homepage. It looks like the menu bar on top. This kinda scared me. After seeing IE 5.0, I'm tempted to switch, folks.....
I knew you could. Seems like BW hit the nail on the head: they are trying to sell a stock symbol, make it rich, and probably disappear. I wouldn't invest a dollar in these idiots. But with exposure like this, they might as well call it quits and move on. Better off dumping the $$$ into that lithography ship....
What I wish for is that this thread DIE on here. I am tired of reading about this every week or so. Isn't there more important news going on? I'd rather read about Madonna at the Super Bowl than more whining about a stupid movie not coming out on DVD. Big whoop. Move on. There are more important things in life to worry about. Sheesh....
That doesn't mean you should be able to purchase it just because you want it. Your doc can still prescribe it. But you and I both know better that if a drug like Viagra were to be freely available, we'd have millions of guys walking around with hard-ons, seeing blue, and many of them dropping dead because they ignored the warning about side effects.

Once again this topic wastes space. A) The movie sucked B) Who cares?? Spend your money on something more interesting like a game or a few pizzas.

ROTLMAO! Maybe I am just slap-happy because the week is finally over. As immature as the post was, I am still laughing.... heeheeheeheehee......
C'mon, someone have a sense of humor and moderate the Coward's post up a bit, eh? = )

Instead of the "well-there-it-is-dept." shouldn't it be the "Duh Dept."? Just curious.
Maybe you all forgot, he stepped down as CEO last year. Isn't he on some island drinking from coconuts right now?
Thanks! I am going to look into it today. This may be good for our first office.

Who gives a hoot? The movie sucked. What's the big deal? Why do we continue to see articles about Star Wars? Enough. I couldn't care less. Please.
What an a-hole. $97 million, huh? Makes a whole lot of sense to me.....
